Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin (elbow) will throw his second simulated game Tuesday, April 28, and then three innings and 45 pitches May 4. Corbin will continue to build to 90 pitches during a minor league rehab assignment starting in mid-May. The team is hoping to have him active on or just before June 5, according to general manager Dave Stewart. Corbin is recovering from Tommy John surgery last March. He went 14-8 with a 3.41 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in a breakout 2013 season.
Fantasy Tip: Corbin is expected to immediately enter the D-backs rotation when he's ready in early June. For that reason alone, he should already be stashed in NL-only and deep mixed leagues in a DL slot. Consider doing the same if you have the room in shallow mixed leagues. Corbin might be slow out of the gates and struggle with velocity and location, as many Tommy John returnees do initially, but he could be a useful fantasy commodity in the second half of 2015 in most leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Gosewisch ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) started each of the previous four games, so he is receiving a day off. Pacheco ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has not had much success at the plate this season and should not be an option on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has not received a lot of playing time so far this season but has gone 4-for-11 at the plate. Thomas could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasScore to consider.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa turned in a dominant seven-inning performance Saturday, April 25, in a loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. De La Rosa allowed just four hits and zero walks, while striking out eight Pirates batters. It was the first time De La Rosa pitched at least seven innings without allowing a single walk since May 31, 2015.
Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is striking out 9.00 batters per nine innings pitched through four starts this season, en route to a 2-1 record. With a career 7.45 K/9, De La Rosa has a fair amount of upside in daily contests. De La Rosa is next schedule to pitch May 1, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It will be a tough follow-up start for De La Rosa, but he's becoming someone to keep an eye on as a streamable starter.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B/OF Yasmany Tomas is starting at third base and hitting fifth in the batting order against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole Friday, April 24. 2B Aaron Hill is sitting the bench tonight.
Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has epic power abilities, but his inconsistent playing time makes him hard to rely on at FantasyScore. The matchup against Cole isn't endearing to daily gamers, either.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF Ender Inciarte is starting in left field and hitting leadoff against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole Friday, April 24. OF David Peralta is the odd-man out in the outfield and is sitting the bench.
Fantasy Tip: Inciarte ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been a spark plug at the top of the Snakes lineup early this season, and he's often times been an excellent value play at FantasyScore with such a cheap salary. Tonight may not be one of those nights, though, as he's facing one of the better all-around pitchers in the league.

Fantasy Tip: O'Brien is one of the team's top minor league prospects. The way he's swinging the bat, he may be due for a call-up soon, especially with Tuffy Gosewisch and Jordan Pacheco not cutting it at the plate. NL-only managers need to have O'Brien on their radar now.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B/OF Yasmany Tomas is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 22, a day after making his starting debut at the hot corner. 2B Aaron Hill is starting at third base and hitting fifth in the batting order against Texas Rangers SP Yovani Gallardo.
Fantasy Tip: Tomas had two hits in his starting debut Wednesday night, but his fantasy owners in seasonal leagues will be frustrated by his inconsistent playing time in Arizona. Hill ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is off to a slow start (.171, 6-for-35) and only has three hits in 18 at-bats against Gallardo. Look elsewhere for your FantasyScore second baseman.

Fantasy Tip: Ender Inciarte ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) will start in left field and hit leadoff Wednesday night. It's hard to find a more alluring outfield value at FantasyScore in a hitter's park against a midrange starting pitcher. The fact that Inciarte is leading also boosts his daily value.
Wed, 22 Apr 2015 13:50:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Inciarte ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has effectively become the team's fourth outfielder. He has shined in 2015 so far, hitting .321 (17-for-53) with six RBI. Inciarte hit all four of his home runs in 2014 off of righties, and he's a great value play at his cheap FantasyScore price against Gallardo tonight.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF Ender Inciarte will sit out Tuesday, April 21, against the Texas Rangers. The Diamondbacks continue to rotate their outfielders and will start OFs A.J. Pollock, Mark Trumbo and David Peralta Tuesday.
Fantasy Tip: Trumbo ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) and Pollock ($3,300, 6.6% of leagues) are both worth owning, while Peralta and Inciarte typically work different sides of a platoon. Inciarte is worth using against left-handed starters, while Peralta is the go-to against righties on FantasyScore.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B/OF Yasmany Tomas will start at third base Tuesday, April 21, against the Texas Rangers. Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said earlier in the day, Tomas would get occasional starts at third, with 3B Jake Lamb (foot) expected to miss another two-to-three weeks.
Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has recorded one single in four major league plate appearances to begin his MLB career and will be hitting sixth in the order Tuesday, behind LF David Peralta and ahead of C Tuffy Gosewisch. Tomas will be an option in GPP tournaments, with left-hander Nick Martinez starting for the Rangers.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb (foot) may not return for two-to-three more weeks, according to manager Chip Hale, Tuesday, April 21. 2B Aaron Hill will continue to receive the majority of the starts at the hot corner, while Hale said prospect 3B Yasmany Tomas could see occasional time at third.
Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has just six hits in 37 plate appearances to begin the 2015 season, and has been on a pretty steady decline offensively, since 2012. Tomas ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has one hit in his first four major league plate appearances, but isn't worth owning with the exception of a deep stash in keeper leagues.
Tue, 21 Apr 2015 15:30:47 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks prospect 3B Yasmany Tomas' future will be as an outfielder, according to manager Chip Hale, Tuesday, April 21. Hale also said Tomas will receive some time at third base with 3B Jake Lamb (foot) still out of the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has one hit in four major league plate appearances since being re-called from Class-AAA, while serving as a bench player. Tomas is an appealing stash option in keeper leagues, but isn't yet worthy of a start in FantasyScore contests.
Tue, 21 Apr 2015 13:58:07 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb (foot) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left foot stress reaction Tuesday, April 21. The D-backs recalled INF Danny Dorn from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Lamb should be stashed in a DL slot in all fantasy baseball leagues. Yasmany Tomas ($2,500, 5.0% of cap), who was initially called up to be a bat off the bench, will now see his fantasy value rise significantly with consistent playing time. Tomas is starting at third base Tuesday night, and he has considerable upside at his price.
