Fantasy Tip: Pacheco ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is only batting .207 during the month of May. Unless you're a FantasyScore owner looking for salary cap relief at the backstop position, look elsewhere.

Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is receiving the day off, despite batting .406 with five RBIs over the last seven days. Hill ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has struggled of late, with three hits in his last 18 at-bats, while Owings ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has been even worse, with only two hits in his last 24 at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Peralta ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) continues to be an adequate play against right-handed pitchers. Batting behind A.J Pollock, Mark Trumbo and Paul Goldschmidt, Peralta will have plenty of potential to drive in runs, making him an intriguing FantasyScore choice for GPP tournaments.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is 0-for-his-last-13, and he has hit just .246 against right-handers this season. Hill should be avoided on FantasyScore against RHP Jake Arrieta.
Sat, 23 May 2015 14:18:43 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Trumbo ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has gone 5-for-26 in his last six games, making it odd that he's now jumping up the batting order. Against a tough right-handed pitcher in Jake Arrieta, Trumbo should be avoided on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) looks like he has dropped a little weight and it may have affected his batting average and overall performance. He remains a decent start at this low price.
Sat, 23 May 2015 06:22:02 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Dating back to Wednesday, May 6, Pollock ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has 15 runs, three home runs, eight RBI and six stolen bases with a .359/.397/.594 slash line. FantasyScore players will want to note two things. First, his .400 BABIP is due to drop closer to the norm, and Pollock's stat line will level off. However, seven of his last 23 hits have gone for extra bases, so he is a great play in points formats, like daily contests.
Sat, 23 May 2015 05:59:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Goldschmidt ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) is up to 31 runs, 11 home runs, 35 RBI and eight stolen bases to go with a .331/.429/.623 slash line. Continue to target him in FantasyScore contests as a lineup building block, and especially when facing a favorable matchup.

Fantasy Tip: Continue to stash Corbin in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, but he won't be an immediate must-start arm when he returns. It would be wise to be patient with him in all formats, and especially in FantasyScore contests. Continue to check back for updates on Corbin's recovery and a new timeline for his return.

Fantasy Tip: Lake is a viable flier for cap relief in daily contests Friday, but he isn't without risk. He has just 15 plate appearances at the highest level this season, and he is only a career .244 hitter.
Fri, 22 May 2015 14:21:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Hill ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Friday. He has caught fire of late and is currently sporting a .975 OPS since Wednesday, May 6, with seven runs, two home runs, nine RBI and two stolen bases.
Fri, 22 May 2015 14:16:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: With tough-lefty Jon Lester on the hill, Peralta ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) slides into a bench role and should be avoided in all fantasy formats Friday. Peralta does his best work against right-handed pitchers, as he sports a career .305/.342/.510 slash line against righties.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin (elbow) will be given more time to return from Tommy John surgery after he allowed three runs in five innings in an intrasquad game at extended spring training Monday, May 18. Corbin's velocity dipped a bit in his last extended spring outing, and he allowed seven hits while striking out six and walking one.
Fantasy Tip: Corbin should be stashed at least in deep mixed and NL-only leagues if he isn't already, because he could be a real asset once he returns to a major league mound. However, it's unclear who he'd bump from the rotation at this time, with the most likely candidate being Jeremy Hellickson ($3,200, 6.4% of cap). Stay tuned.
Thu, 21 May 2015 14:11:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Collmenter ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) will be a risk/reward play at FantasyScore tomorrow night. He is striking out only 4.2 hitters per nine innings this year, but on the other hand, the Cubbies lead all of baseball with 387 strikeouts as a team.
Thu, 21 May 2015 14:08:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is a hitting machine right now, and he's hitting .351 (20-for-57) with a home run and seven RBI in May. Despite the lack of fence-clearing power right now, Tomas is as good an option as you're going to find at FantasyScore at that price.
