Fantasy Tip: Segura picked up where he left off. His average is up to .345, and he should be back in starting lineups in all formats.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Lamb is certainly in a platoon at third base with Drury. Drury has been Arizona's hottest hitter of late and certainly deserves a long look in daily formats tonight. As long as he's producing and playing regularly, Drury is one to add off the waiver wire in mixed leagues, too, if he's available.

Fantasy Tip: You'll want to get Segura immediately back into your starting lineups in traditional fantasy leagues the way he's started his season off hot. In daily formats, though, it may be wise to take a pass after he missed the last few games with a hip injury.

Arizona Diamondbacks SS Jean Segura has cut his swing rate on pitches outside the zone from 38.5% to 31.4% this year. His .365 on-base percentage in the leadoff spot is well above the major league average (.339). However, his average on balls in play (.359) is 55 points higher than his career norm.
Fantasy Tip: Cutting down on chasing bad pitches is a start for Segura, but his incredibly high BABIP says regression is in store for the Arizona leadoff man. His power (four home runs after hitting six all of last year) also is unlikely to be sustained over the full season. Even if Segura has made strides with some plate discipline, he remains an attractive sell-high candidate.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin's stuff has been diminished later in his outings, according to manager Chip Hale, and the D-backs plan to monitor him for now late in his starts. Hale thinks the issue will correct itself once Corbin builds endurance coming off Tommy John surgery. Corbin missed all of the 2014 season and wasn't allowed to throw more than 91 pitches in any of his starts last year.
Fantasy Tip: Corbin's velocity has taken a dip slightly later in his outings to begin the year, so this is something to watch as we get into the summer months. As he rebuilds his strength, Corbin is more of a shaky fantasy starter, especially since he's struck out only 5.6 hitters per nine innings in his first six starts of 2016.

Arizona Diamondbacks SS Jean Segura (hip) could be out until Friday, May 6, although he did single in a pinch-hit appearance Wednesday, May 4. "We'll see how the progress goes," Segura said before the game. "I don't think it's going to take too long. I think we're being smart and not trying to be too tough. We're only in May, so we've got five months to play."
Fantasy Tip: Segura owners are itching to get him back into their starting lineups the way he's played to begin the year. Keep in mind that his hot start is being buoyed by a BABIP that will drop, meaning Segura's hot start and power numbers won't last. He's a prime sell-high candidate after the first month of the season.

Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa lost for the first time in his last four outings and had a scoreless streak of 12 1/3 innings snapped during the second inning. He will look to get back on track in his next start against the Colorado Rockies Monday, May 9, but he is not a recommended fantasy option because the game is in Denver.

Correcting a previous report, Arizona Diamondbacks SS Jean Segura (hip) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, May 4. 2B Phil Gosselin is starting at second base and batting leadoff against Miami Marlins SP Jose Fernandez Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Segura hasn't played since Saturday, April 30, and fantasy owners should hope the nagging hip injury doesn't interrupt his excellent start to the season. Through his first 25 games, Segura has 12 runs, four home runs, 15 RBI, four stolen bases and a .333/.362/.523 slash line. Gosselin is a fantasy afterthought facing Fernandez Wednesday.

Arizona Diamondbacks C Welington Castillo and SS/OF Chris Owings are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, May 4. 3B Brandon Drury is starting in right field and batting fifth, while C Chris Herrmann is catching and hitting seventh against Miami Marlins SP Jose Fernandez. OF David Peralta moves over to center field.
Fantasy Tip: The matchup is tough for the D-backs, but with Drury so hot (18-for-46, four home runs in last 11 games), it might be worth keeping him in your starting lineups in traditional leagues. Herrmann has six hits in 33 at-bats (.182) and should be avoided everywhere.

Fantasy Tip: Segura misses just one start with a minor hip ailment. He's been off to a scorching start but a high BABIP and HR/FB marks say he's bound for regression in the coming months. You aren't benching him in standard leagues, but look to avoid him against Fernandez today in daily contests.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa has an 11-inning scoreless streak entering his start against the Miami Marlins Wednesday, May 4, and he is 3-0 with a 0.64 ERA in his last three games (two starts).
Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa has improved against left-handers recently and struck out 10 in his last outing against the St. Louis Cardinals. He remains an intriguing raw talent but has been hard to rely on in fantasy because of his inconsistency. The matchup against Miami is a nice one especially now that Dee Gordon is suspended. De La Rosa makes for an attractive second daily starter tonight.

Fantasy Tip: Miller (0-3, 8.49 ERA, 7.3 BB/9) certainly isn't this bad, but we warned you that he'd regress in 2016 with the move to the desert. Bad mechanics are playing a role, and you probably don't want to sell low at this point. Ride him out and keep him benched for now, although a matchup against his former team in the weak-hitting Braves could be the beginning of a turnaround.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb and OF David Peralta are not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins left-handed SP Justin Nicolino Tuesday, May 3. 3B Brandon Drury is at the hot corner and hitting second, while OF Rickie Weeks is starting in left field and batting cleanup.
Fantasy Tip: If you're choosing one of the these players in daily contests, it best be Drury, who has gone 9-for-28 (.321) with three home runs and five RBI in seven straight games. His hot streak has been bad news for Lamb and has basically relegated him to more of a bench role. Drury should be attracting the attention of those in mixed leagues, as well. Weeks, despite hitting cleanup, is more of a low-end daily commodity.

Fantasy Tip: Check back for updates tomorrow to see if Segura will return to action. He had a great April and surprised with his power stroke. He can't keep that pace up, though, and is incredibly high batting average on balls in play (BABIP) means he's due for regression in the average department. This would be a good time to sell high. Phil Gosselin replaces Segura at second and in the leadoff spot Tuesday but is a low-end middle infield play in daily games.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Shelby Miller's delivery seems out of whack this year compared to last. His delivery has always featured him driving down low with his back, with his arm slinging across his legs. However, his pitching hand was parallel with his knees last year, and this year it's ending up lower. The D-backs have won only two of his six starts.
Fantasy Tip: Miller's start with Arizona has been disastrous, and he's gone at least five innings just three times in his six starts with an 8.49 ERA in six starts. Miller is a candidate to drop in shallow mixed leagues if he wasn't already. Bench him everywhere else and hope he gets his mechanics sorted out in short order.
