Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) hasn't displayed as much power as expected, but he does have a .315 average and has been a decent source of RBI since being given regular at-bats toward the end of April. When he draws a friendly matchup, he is a solid mid-priced option at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is 6-for-22 (.273) against De La Rosa in his career, with two RBIs. However, he has struggled at the plate this year, batting just .224 with four homers and 22 RBIs through 66 games. Only consider him for FantasyScore lineups if you need cap relief.

Fantasy Tip: Castillo ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is 3-for-8 in his career against De La Rosa and is 7-for-25 with a home run and four RBIs over the past week. FantasyScore owners looking for an inexpensive catcher may want to consider using him today.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin was successful in his return from Tommy John surgery Saturday, July 4, as the Diamondbacks won 7-3. Corbin allowed two runs, scattered eight hits, struck out three and walked none in his first start since Sept. 27, 2013,
Fantasy Tip: Corbin ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) avoided the pitfall of a bad first start in his return from elbow surgery. Keep an eye on his matchups and don't blindly play Corbin in every game, but be aware he passed his first test.

Fantasy Tip: Pollock ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) is enjoying a breakout season, and he is contributing in every offensive category. He has three straight multi-hit games, and he should make a strong option at FantasyScore against Rubby De La Rosa Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: It has been more of the same for the triple-crown contender. Over his past 22 games, Goldschmidt has 13 runs, five doubles, six home runs, 19 RBI and six stolen bases with a .395/.490/.605 slash line. The fact that his season-long 1.102 OPS is higher than his mark over the past 22 games highlights just how excellent Goldschmidt has been this season, and fantasy owners have to love the 15 stolen bases.

Fantasy Tip: Pennington ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) draws a plus-matchup against Kendrick. Pennington still should be viewed as a desperation source of cap relief, though. After all, he has a .216/.314/.239 slash line.

Fantasy Tip: Corbin ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) will be returning after recovering from Tommy John surgery. He likely will be on a pitch count during game, which does not make him a great option on FantasyScore. Owners on deeper mixed leagues and NL-only leagues could consider adding him to their roster.

Fantasy Tip: It may be a smaller sample size, but Tomas ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been successful against his NL West rivals this season. Tomas is growing into a decent threat in FantasyScore formats with his .318 average and 70 hits this season, but keep an eye out for matchups like these.
Fri, 03 Jul 2015 04:16:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Peralta ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has been weaker against lefties this season (.237) when compared to his .277 average against right-handers. This is an encouraging step that makes Peralta a more well-rounded option in FantasyScore.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson picked up his fourth straight win at Chase Field Thursday, July 2, as the Diamondbacks defeated the Colorado Rockies 8-1. He struck out six in seven innings of work.
Fantasy Tip: Hellickson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) appears to have found his groove at home, as he improved to 6-5 overall. Hellickson won't win every home start, but his numbers at Chase suggest he is a good starter in FantasyScore formats when pitching there.

Updating a previous report, Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley (shoulder) isn't dealing with a shoulder impingement, but he will rest his arm for around 10 days and then resume a throwing program.
Fantasy Tip: Bradley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has a long road back, but fortunately it looks like he won't miss the rest of the season. However, he should be left to the waiver wire in shallow mixed leagues since he's unlikely to contribute big numbers in the second half of 2015.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF David Peralta has been heating up as of late, slashing .355/.474/.645 over his past nine games, to go along with two home runs, five runs batted in, seven runs scored, six walks, and one stolen base.
Fantasy Tip: With hits in seven of his past nine games, Peralta ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is turning into a fine fantasy option, but concerning tonight's matchup, he has to contend with Colorado Rockies left-hander Chris Rusin, which could be a problem, as the 26-year-old is hitting just .200 against southpaws this season without a single homer. Peralta is batting low in the lineup as a result, but given his hot streak, and the fact that Arizona leads the National League in runs scored, Peralta still merits consideration for daily lineups.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley (shoulder) met with Dr. James Andrews Thursday, July 2, to get a second opinion on his shoulder injury. Dr. Andrews confirmed the diagnosis by the team doctor, reporting no structural damage in the shoulder, just some inflammation.
Fantasy Tip: Bradley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is on the 15-day disabled list, but there doesn't seem to be much reason to believe the injury will keep him out too far beyond the minimum time. Still, the Diamondbacks are likely to take things very carefully with Bradley. Due to Bradley's struggles this season, even when healthy, he's only worth stashing in NL-only leagues and deep keeper leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Ahmed ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is hitting .302 with three homers and eight RBI in his last 15 games.
