Fantasy Tip: The closer situation in Arizona is shaky, and Ziegler could lose chances to Addison or Enrique Burgos if he doesn't right the ship. Needless to say, you can't count on any of Arizona's relievers to provide you saves for the long haul.

Fantasy Tip: Lamb ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) likely will need to play in some rehab games before returning to the Diamondbacks, so owners should avoid him until he rejoins the team. Yasmany Tomas ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is on an 11-game hitting streak and has at least two hits in eight of those games. Tomas could be a starting option on FantasyScore while he is on a hot streak.

Fantasy Tip: Saltalamacchia went 2-for-29 over nine games with the Miami Marlins earlier this season, and then he posted an uninspiring .188/.222/.375 slash line through nine games with Class AAA Reno. He is a desperation flier in NL-only and two-catcher formats until proven otherwise. In daily contests, "Salty" is nothing more than a low-priced flier.

Fantasy Tip: Saltalamacchia did not have a lot of success when he played for the Miami Marlins earlier this season and has a .069 batting average. Saltamacchia could be an option in NL-only and two-catcher leagues since he will be a starter, but owners should not expect great stats from him.

Fantasy Tip: If Gosewisch ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is correct, it is likely he'll miss the remainder of the season. Jarrod Saltalamacchia projects to see the majority of starts in the short term, but he has struggled significantly over the past few seasons. Prospect Peter O'Brien is mashing at Class AAA Reno, but he has only played 10 games behind the plate compared to 25 in the outfield. Still, if he were to be recalled to Arizona, there would be huge upside. O'Brien currently has 32 runs, 11 home runs, 45 RBI with a .345/.388/.648 slash line.

Fantasy Tip: Over his last 123 games, Saltalamacchia is sporting a .209/.310/.351 slash line with 46 runs, 12 home runs and 45 RBI. His 25-home run season in 2012 seems like a distant memory at this point, and fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach with "Salty" in the majority of formats. A speculative add in NL-only and two-catcher formats isn't out of the question, but expectations should be kept in check.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF Mark Trumbo is not in the lineup Friday, May 29, against the Milwaukee Brewers. OF David Peralta is playing left field, with OF Ender Inciarte over to right and OF A.J. Pollock in center.
Fantasy Tip: Trumbo ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) appears to be out just for a night off, so there should be no immediate worries on your roster. Peralta ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has a weak bat and carries little fantasy value.

Arizona Diamondbacks C Tuffy Gosewisch (knee) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 29, with a left knee ACL injury. To fill the roster spot, the Diamondbacks selected the contract of C Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Fantasy Tip: Gosewisch ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) should be removed from your lineups immediately in FantasyScore, and he should be shelved in keeper leagues. As for Saltalamacchia, he carries little fantasy value. There is a catcher in the organization, Peter O'Brien, who could be called up later this year and he carries much more promise.

Fantasy Tip: With Tuffy Gosewisch getting injured last night, Saltalamacchia could split time behind the dish with Jordan Pacheco in the desert. Salty hit just .069 (2-for-29) before being released by the Miami Marlins earlier this year. He's worth considering in deep NL-only leagues if he sees enough playing time, but he should be avoided at FantasyScore, at least to start.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb (foot) went 2-for-4 in an extended spring training game Wednesday, May 27, and could start a rehab assignment in the near future. He is expected to serve as a designated hitter in an extended spring training game Thursday, May 28.
Fantasy Tip: Lamb ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is making progress in his recovery and could return to the team in the next few weeks. It is not known if he would start when he rejoins the team, so owners may want to see what his role would be before considering him as an option.
Wed, 27 May 2015 20:59:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gosewisch ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) may have to go on the 15-day disabled list if the injury is more than day-to-day. Jordan Pacheco ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) could receive more playing time but is not a great option on FantasyScore.
Wed, 27 May 2015 20:15:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation to see when Gosewisch ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) will be able to return to the lineup. Gosewisch is hitting only .211 this season and probably is not a great option on FantasyScore when he returns.

Fantasy Tip: Ahmed ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) could continue to be an under-the-radar sleeper play at FantasyScore tonight against St. Louis Cardinals starter Lance Lynn, but hitting eighth in the batting order limits his upside.
Wed, 27 May 2015 14:43:30 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Trumbo ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is mired in an 8-for-43 run with a .558 OPS over his past 12 games. He also has just one home run and two RBI during the stretch. Until Trumbo picks it up at the dish, he is a high-risk, high-reward option going forward in FantasyScore contests, including Wednesday.
Wed, 27 May 2015 14:37:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is riding a 10-game hit streak with three runs, a home run, nine RBI and a .435/.447/.609 slash line. It isn't a plus-matchup against Lance Lynn, but Tomas is scoring hot and a worthy FantasyScore option, especially at his cap-friendly price. He should be owned in all seasonal formats, and his value is rising.
