Redskins | Kendall Fuller nearly 100%

Thu, 19 May 2016 07:08:09 -0700

Washington Redskins CB Kendall Fuller (knee) estimated that he is 90-95% strength and will be ready for training camp July 28. Fuller had microfracture surgery last fall to repair cartilage in his right knee. The Redskins say they're optimistic about Fuller's recovery because it was a tiny area being repaired, which meant he needed fewer incisions.

Redskins | Jamison Crowder to play slot

Tue, 17 May 2016 17:57:24 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder will serve as the Redskins' primary slot receiver in 2016, with WRs Pierre Garcon, DeSean Jackson and Ryan Grant also capable of playing in the slot.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson and Doctson currently have the most fantasy appeal in Washington, but don't completely disregard Garcon, either. Crowder is a sneaky sleeper candidate after tallying 59 catches for 604 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season, but don't view him as more than a WR5 at best in the Redskins' packed wide receiver corps.

Redskins | Andre Roberts cut

Tue, 17 May 2016 05:50:42 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Andre Roberts was released Tuesday, May 17. The move will save the team nearly $4 million on the salary cap.

Fantasy Tip: Roberts never took off after showing signs in Arizona, and the move shouldn't come as a surprise. He could still catch on with a team and be worthy of a WR5 flyer in the right situation.

Redskins | Josh Doctson adjusting to new offense

Mon, 16 May 2016 19:38:22 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson said he is working on learning the new routes he will have to run in the NFL. "A lot of the routes are deeper," Doctson said. "A lot of deep in-breaking routes. I probably didn't run one double move in college and we have a whole arsenal of double moves here. It's a little different in and out of breaks, getting your hips around. Things like that."

Fantasy Tip: It likely will take some time for Doctson to learn the new offense but should have a solid role in the passing game. He probably would be a decent option in the late rounds of deeper leagues and likely will be more valuable in keeper leagues.

Redskins | Kirk Cousins expects talks to heat up

Mon, 16 May 2016 16:43:23 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins said he believes long-term contract talks will intensify closer to the July 15 deadline.

Fantasy Tip: Cousins will play for the Redskins for at least one more year and is not worried about his contract status. Cousins played well as the starter in 2015 and will have plenty of weapons to work with on offense. Cousins should be seen as a low-end No. 1 or a terrific No. 2 quarterback in most leagues.

Redskins | No worries with Matt Jones

Mon, 16 May 2016 13:24:30 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones is expected to stay healthy and secure the football this season, and general manager Scot McCloughan has no concerns that he can do both. McCloughan said Jones has looked great this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Jones will be the primary ball-carrier for the Redskins this year in his second season in the NFL. Jones showed promise in 2015, but his 3.4 yards per carry and five fumbles left something to be desired. If he can fix his fumble-itis and stay on the field then Jones has RB2 potential.
