Fantasy Tip: Griffin likely will miss a few more weeks because of his injury. Kirk Cousins will be the starter while Griffin is sidelined. Cousins costs $7,600 on FantasyScore this week, but owners probably could find a better option to use.

Washington Redskins LB Akeem Jordan (knee) and CB Tracy Porter (hamstring) have been ruled out for Week 3. DE Kedric Golston (groin) is listed as doubtful, OG Kory Lichtensteiger (groin) and PK Kai Forbath (groin) are listed as questionable and FS Ryan Clark (foot), RB Roy Helu (quadriceps), OG Shawn Lauvao (knee), LB Brian Orakpo (ankle) and Darrel Young (neck) are listed as probable. Golston, Jordan and Porter did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 19. Lichtensteiger was limited during practice, while the other players fully participated in practice.

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (shoulder), who was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 19, didn't look 100 percent fluid in individual drills, but he was able to catch the ball. He will work out with trainers Saturday, Sept. 20, and Sunday, Sept. 21, before the team makes a decision on whether he can play in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team remains optimistic about his chances of playing. WR Ryan Grant will receive more playing time if Jackson can't play.
Fantasy Tip: Jackson's $6,000 salary at FantasyScore is a decent-sized risk, even if he does play. Will he be limited? And what are the chances of re-injury? Andre Roberts ($3,700) is a fine sleeper play if D-Jax doesn't play.

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins is more of a pocket passer than QB Robert Griffin III, and Cousins sees the field better. Cousins kept the team out of danger in Week 2 by quickly throwing the ball at a receiver's feet with a rusher in his face instead of trying to force the ball downfield like Griffin has frequently done. Cousins may not be as dangerous as Griffin in zone-read plays, but Cousins has shown he can make good, quick decisions in the pocket after going through his progressions quickly.
Fantasy Tip: Cousins is still learning, but he could find success in place of Griffin, because this system seems to fit him the best. His numbers won't always be eye-popping, but for instance, he could easily return great value on his $7,600 FantasyScore salary against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend.

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Jay Gruden said Jackson made steps in a "positive direction," however. Jackson went through individual drills in practice Friday, Sept. 19.
Fantasy Tip: All signs currently point to Jackson playing, but you'll have to check back Sunday morning to be sure. He's a risky play at FantasyScore for $6,000 (12.0% of salary cap).

Fantasy Tip: Keep Reed on your bench for another week. For the second straight week, Niles Paul ($4,000 at FantasyScore) has the potential to return a nice profit against a weak Eagles defense.

Washington Redskins DE Kedric Golston (groin), LB Akeem Jordan (knee) and CB Tracy Porter (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 18. OG Kory Lichtensteiger (groin) and PK Kai Forbath (groin) were limited during practice, while RB Roy Helu (quadriceps), OG Shawn Lauvao (knee), LB Brian Orakpo (ankle) and FB Darrel Young (neck) fully participated in practice.

Fantasy Tip: It is looking like Reed will not be able to play in Week 3 because of the injury. Niles Paul likely will receive most of the targets among the tight ends and could be a solid option on FantasyScore at $4,000.

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (shoulder) is on the stationary bike as the rest of the team stretches for practice Thursday, Sept. 18. The plan is for Jackson to test his shoulder in practice Friday, Sept. 19.
Fantasy Tip: Even with the injury, one would have to think Jackson will be on the field on Sunday with a chance to play his former team. He is an intriguing option in FantasyScore with a price of $6,000 (12% of cap), but the injury does make him a risky play.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) could return around eight weeks after head coach Jon Gruden said Griffin will be in a cast for the next 10 days. After that, he'll likely spend four to six weeks rehabbing his dislocated left ankle. QB Kirk Cousins will continue to start in place of Griffin in the meantime.
Fantasy Tip: You can avoid Griffin at FantasyScore for a while, and he may not be of much use when he returns, either. Meanwhile, Cousins ($7,600) is an attractive option against the Philadelphia Eagles if you're willing to pass up some of the bigger names at quarterback.

Washington Redskins DE Kedric Golston (groin), LB Akeem Jordan (knee) and CB Tracy Porter (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17. PK Kai Forbath (groin) and FB Darrel Young (neck) were limited during practice, while RB Roy Helu (quadriceps), OG Shawn Lauvao (knee) and LB Brian Orakpo (ankle) fully participated in practice.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin will be sidelined several weeks because of his injury, so owners will need to look elsewhere for a starting quarterback. Kirk Cousins could be a waiver wire option for desperate owners.

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (shoulder) will play in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles, his former team, according to Eagles RB LeSean McCoy. "He's playing," McCoy said. "He said he's definitely playing. That's the first thing he texted, he said 'I'm playing.'"
Fantasy Tip: Jackson is a gamer and wouldn't miss the opportunity to try and torch his old team. Because of that, he makes for an interesting play at $6,000 (12.0% of cap) over at FantasyScore. His health is a risk, though.
Wed, 17 Sep 2014 10:20:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Niles Paul filled in for Reed in Week 2 and appeared to have a good chemistry with Kirk Cousins during the game. Paul only costs $4,000 on FantasyScore this week, which would make him a solid addition to starting lineups if he gets the start.
