Fantasy Tip: It's tempting to want to start Griffin in the matchup against the Vikes. But remember that it's Griffin's first start back, and he's likely to be shaking off some rust in this one. Hold off and look to start him after the team's Week 10 bye.

Washington Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (knee) is questionable for Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings. S Ryan Clark (ankle, shoulder), OT Trent Williams (knee), LB Ryan Kerrigan (wrist), LB Trent Murphy (knee), CB Tracy Porter (hamstring), LB Perry Riley (knee) and LB Keenan Robinson (shoulder) are probable. Clark and Williams were limited in practice Friday, Oct. 31, while the others were full participants.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) received the majority of the first-team repetitions in practice this week, and Griffin feels completely healthy and ready to return to the starting lineup. "If there is any rust, I'll lean on the guys," Griffin said. "It's a game we need. They have a great defense, but I'll lean on my guys to help get me through this game and work with me. I expect them to make a ton of plays, just like they expect me to make a ton of plays. If there is any rust, I'm sure they'll overshadow it because they're playing at a high level right now." He won't be limited at all, meaning the read-zone option is a possibility, along with plays that require him to leave the pocket.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin isn't available at FantasyScore this week, and that's probably a good thing. You'll probably want to avoid using him until after the team's Week 10 bye, anyway. Expect Griffin to lean heavily on his favorite target, Pierre Garcon, when he goes to the air.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin is fully healthy, and the team has every intention of starting him against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9. However, you should be waring of rolling the dice on him at FantasyScore.

Washington Redskins S Ryan Clark (ankle, shoulder) and OT Trent Williams (knee) were limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 30. LB Ryan Kerrigan (wrist), LB Trent Murphy (knee), CB Tracy Porter (hamstring), LB Perry Riley (knee) and LB Keenan Robinson (shoulder) practiced in full.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) will start against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9, barring any setbacks this week in practice, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Gruden and the coaching staff are intent on Griffin starting, and Gruden said it would take Griffin re-injuring his ankle for him not to play. "We have every intent of him starting," Gruden said. "Everybody's on board as far from a physical standpoint. Last week he was running around like a banchi. He's healthier than most of the guys we have playing. From a physical standpoint he's ready but for a young quarterback who missed this much time in a new system, the big thing is getting back from a mental standpoint." Griffin increased his workload with the first team Thursday, Oct. 30.
Fantasy Tip: The Redskins are fully convinced that Griffin is 100 percent healthy mentally and physically. However, that doesn't mean it's safe to immediately plug him back into your fantasy lineups. It's probably best to wait until after the team's Week 10 bye to trust Griffin.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) received most of the work with the first-team offense during practice Thursday, Oct. 30, and will start in Week 9 if he does not have any setbacks, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Gruden said the team believes Griffin is 100 percent physically but want to make sure he is up to speed mentally.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin should be the starting quarterback in Week 9 but could be rusty after missing several weeks. Owners can start Griffin this week but may want to lower their expectations.

Washington Redskins S Ryan Clark (ankle, shoulder) and OT Trent Williams (knee) were limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29. LB Ryan Kerrigan (wrist), LB Trent Murphy (knee), CB Tracy Porter (hamstring), LB Perry Riley (knee) and LB Keenan Robinson (shoulder) practiced in full.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin is not available in FantasyScore this week, but he is a decent option in season ling leagues.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) could play against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Griffin practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 29, and split first-team repetitions with QB Colt McCoy. Gruden said Griffin's situation is now more mental than physical. "We'll see it's all going to depend on how he does in tomorrow and Friday," Gruden said. "And moving forward, how I feel he's coming back. From a physical standpoint he looks good, now it's a matter of mental and getting back into the football part of it. If he looks good in that regard then there's a chance he could play and if not and he needs another week, he'll take another week."
Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately, Griffin isn't available to play at FantasyScore this weekend, but he should now be owned in all other leagues with his return right around the corner. McCoy played surprisingly well on Monday night, but he's a desperation sleeper play against the Vikes.

Fantasy Tip: It is still too early in the week to know if Griffin will be ready to go in Week 9, with that determination likely coming in the next two days of practice. Check back before you commit to him in FantasyScore.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) is "very, very, very close" to returning to game action, according to head coach Jay Gruden. "Physically I think he'll be ready to go. Doctors are feeling pretty good about it, they still want to feel around this week until we make the final determination. I just want to make sure he feels good in the pocket," Gruden said. The Redskins still don't want to rush Griffin back too soon, though, so the evaluation of him could last another week.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin should be owned in all fantasy football leagues at this point. How he looks in practice this week will likely determine if he plays against the Minnesota Vikings. Colt McCoy ($3,900) played surprisingly well in the Week 8 win, though, so he could see another crack at it.

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson had six catches on seven targets for 136 yards in Week 8, and he has topped 100 receiving yards three times in his last four games after managing just one 100-yard game in the first four games of the season.
Fantasy Tip: After a slow start with his new team, Jackson has begun making big plays down the field on a routine basis. There is always a little risk when you use a player that depends on the deep ball to produce points, but Jackson is the type of high-risk, high-reward option that can separate you from the pack at FantasyScore. He has a nice matchup on tap in Week 9 against Minnesota.
