Washington Redskins RB Mack Brown carried 19 times for 149 yards and a touchdown in the preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wednesday, Aug. 31, in the wind and rain at Raymond James Stadium.
Fantasy Tip: Brown might have secured a roster spot in D.C. with the strong performance, working his way onto the team behind Matt Jones, Rob Kelley and Keith Marshall. He isn't a fantasy option at this point unless one of the top three backs come down with a long-term injury.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley likely cemented a roster spot, and perhaps a very meaningful role behind Matt Jones, with the big performance and overall solid preseason. He is worth a look as a late-round flyer in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.

Fantasy Tip: Rob Kelley receives an uptick in value with this move as he is now the likely backup behind Matt Jones, who is dealing with health issues himself. Marshall can now be avoided in all but dynasty leagues, while Jones is still in low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 consideration. Kelley should be viewed as a late-round flier or handcuff pick.

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins RB Keith Marshall (elbow) may be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Marshall will miss three weeks with a sprained elbow.
Fantasy Tip: Matt Jones and Marshall will be hampered for the start of the regular season, leaving a crack open in the door for Robert Kelley to prove himself as a deep sleeper. Chris Thompson should see plenty of action in the passing game even when his fellow running backs are healthy. He deserves a look in the RB3 to RB4 range in PPR formats.

Fantasy Tip: Jones will start for the Redskins as long as he's healthy, but he may have more help than usual in Week 1 if he's not full go yet. As far as the season as a whole is concerned, Jones is a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 option.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall loses all fantasy value except in deeper dynasty leagues for now.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall is competing for the No. 3 running back job, so missing some time would hurt his chances to make the team. He probably should not be drafted in most fantasy leagues but could be a waiver wire option if he makes the team because he probably would see playing time if Matt Jones suffered an injury.
