Redskins | Rob Kelley hopes to play

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 18:06:30 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (rib) said he hopes to play in Week 3 even though he is dealing with a rib injury he suffered in Week 2. He said he will wear a pad over his ribs to protect them if he is active for Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley probably will be able to play if he is able to handle the pain, so owners will have a better idea of his status later in the week. Kelley may be limited because of the injury if he plays and may not be more than a flex option in fantasy leagues if he is limited.

Redskins | Chris Thompson takes part in practice

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 15:20:40 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (back) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson appears to be on track to play in Week 3 and could receive a bigger role if Rob Kelley is not able to play. He recorded 106 total yards and two touchdowns in Week 2 and should be a solid flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

Redskins | Limited practice for Rob Kelley

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 15:14:22 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (rib) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley's availability may be determined by how he can handle the pain, so owners should keep an eye on the situation during the week. He played well before leaving the Week 2 game because of the injury and could be a flex option in leagues if he is able to handle his normal workload.

Redskins | Jordan Reed sits out Wednesday

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 15:09:27 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (rib, sternum) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Reed's status is uncertain at this point, so owners will need to check on his status later in the week. He has dealt with injuries in the past which makes him a risky fantasy option. Owners will need to have a backup plan in case Reed is not able to play in Week 3.

Redskins | Chris Thompson likely to see expanded role

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 09:14:21 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson is expected to see more work going forward, but head coach Jay Gruden warned reporters the team doesn't "want to go crazy with him" given his 5-8, 190-pound frame.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson has turned six carries and seven catches into 162 total yards and three touchdowns through two weeks, giving the offense quite the spark despite limited work. He's definitely worked his way into flex consideration in all formats, but owners need to understand Gruden doesn't want him becoming a full-time back, so a Darren Sproles-like role is probably the best they can hope for from him.

Redskins | Rob Kelley also day-to-day

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 12:39:39 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (ribs) is considered day-to-day with a rib cartilage injury.

Fantasy Tip: Perine received 21 carries last weekend due to Kelley being sidelined. If Kelley is forced to miss time then Perine will be a bargain play in daily contests next week even after gaining just 67 yards on those 21 attempts.

Redskins | Jordan Reed day-to-day

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 12:34:47 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (chest) is considered day-to-day with a chest contusion, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: Here we go again. Reed is dealing with an ailment. Surprise, surprise. Vernon Davis will fill in for Reed if Reed can't play this weekend. Jamison Crowder, Terrelle Pryor and Chris Thompson would be the main beneficiaries though.

Redskins | Jordan Reed injures chest

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 09:03:23 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (chest) suffered a sternoclavicular joint sprain in Week 2 Sunday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Reed returned to action, and it's going to be a pain-tolerance issue, which hasn't been his strong suit in recent years. Stay tuned for further testing today, but he's a risky play in Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders.

Redskins | Josh Doctson blanked again

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 21:30:16 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson was targeted just once in Week 2 against the Rams and he was held without a catch.

Fantasy Tip: Doctson, a former first-round pick of the team, has been unable to stay healthy in his brief career. He has been a bust so far, but he has plenty of time to shed the label. However, for now, avoid him in all fantasy leagues until he starts to tap into his immense potential.

Redskins | Samaje Perine runs for 67 yards

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 21:29:36 -0700

Washington Redskins rookie RB Samaje Perine rushed 21 times for 67 yards in Week 2 against the Rams and he had one catch for no gain on his only target.

Fantasy Tip: Perine had the most touches out of the three Washington backs, and he did a pretty solid job. The rookie out of the University of Oklahoma has all kinds of upside, but in a crowded backfield it's uncertain who will be the bellcow from week to week. They're using a hot-hand approach in Washington which is maddening to fantasy owners.

Redskins | Terrelle Pryor makes just two grabs

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 21:28:59 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Terrelle Pryor posted just two catches for 31 yards on four targets in Week 2 against the Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Pryor hasn't done much in his first two games with the Redskins so far, as there seems to be a lot more competition for targets than he had in Cleveland. As such, his fantasy stock is plummeting by the minute. He'll look to bounce back in Week 3 against the Raiders, one of his former teams.

Redskins | Jamison Crowder racks up four catches

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 21:28:27 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder posted four catches for 47 yards in Week 2 on the road against the Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Crowder is off to a bit of a slow start, as the Redskins offense has been run heavy and Kirk Cousins isn't putting up elite numbers right now. Still, don't give up on Crowder in PPR formats heading into Week 3 against the Raiders.
