Fantasy Tip: With solid weapons around him, Cousins could repeat his breakout performance from a year ago. Don't hesitate to draft him as your backup.

Fantasy Tip: In a Washington backfield currently decimated by injuries, Kelley could be worth a late-round flier in standard leagues. He could also be a sneaky DFS play if he ends up starting the first few games.

Washington Redskins RB Keith Marshall (elbow) suffered a sprained left elbow during the preseason game against the Buffalo Bills Friday, Aug. 26, and will not return. He went to the locker room and underwent X-rays after suffering the injury.
Fantasy Tip: Marshall is competing for the No. 3 running back job, so owners should monitor the situation. Matt Jones and Chris Thompson are the top two running backs, but Marshall could receive most of the work if Jones suffered an injury since Thompson is more of a receiving option. Marshall probably should only be a late-round option in deeper leagues but could be an attractive waiver wire option during the season.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson can be big-play dependent at times, but the speedster is still worth drafting as a WR3.

Washington Redskins TE Derek Carrier (knee) is making progress in his recovery from torn ligaments in his knee but may start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Thompson is dealing with a minor injury and wants to be ready for the start of the regular season. Thompson is expected to be the third-down back this season if Matt Jones is healthy and could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Doctson and Crowder have missed multiple practices because of injury and may not play again until Week 1 if they are healthy. Both receivers are probably No. 5 receivers in most fantasy leagues since the Redskins have other targets in the passing game.

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (Achilles') could take the field as early as the Redskins' final preseason game. Head coach Jay Gruden said the "total expectation" is for Doctson to be good to go by Week 1, although he is not at 100% health yet. Gruden does believe that Doctson is in a good place from a mental standpoint.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds positive, but it will be more positive when Doctson is taken off the PUP list. He'll be part of a crowded receiving corps whenever he is ready. Jordan Reed, DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Jamison Crowder and more will all be in the mix. There may not be enough opportunity for Doctson to achieve more than WR5 numbers.
