Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder will compete for WR Andre Roberts' roles as slot receiver and punt returner in training camp. General manager Scot McCloughan said Crowder is an excellent route runner.
Fantasy Tip: Crowder is just 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, so his size will always be a question. Roberts is coming off a 36-453-2 season, and Crowder could very well win the spot. If so, Crowder may be worth a look in the final rounds of drafts.

Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris's role won't be impacted by rookie RB Matt Jones, according to head coach Jay Gruden. "Alfred's still the running back here," Gruden said. "He's had three great seasons and that won't change."
Fantasy Tip: Morris has topped 1,000 yards and managed at least seven touchdowns in each of his first three seasons, and based on Gruden's comments, he is safe pick as a high-end RB2.

Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan said picking up the fifth-year option for QB Robert Griffin III will not affect the team's draft strategy. "It does not affect our draft process whatsoever… if we get to the fifth pick and the best player is a quarterback, we're taking the quarterback," McCloughan said.

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's 2016 option was picked up Monday, April 27. He will make $16.2 million in 2016, and he'll have a base salary of $3.27 million in 2015. The fifth-year option is guaranteed for injury only, meaning the Redskins could release him before the 2016 season without salary cap ramifications.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin is expected to be the starting in training camp and leading up to Week 1, but beyond that, not much is guaranteed for him unless he delivers on the field. He hasn't done much since an impressive rookie season in 2012, mainly due to injuries. Griffin has plenty of upside left, though, and he's a high-end QB2 in traditional leagues, with plenty or risk/reward.

Fantasy Tip: After basically two lost seasons, Griffin is in a make-or-break year. He's a high-end QB2 in two-quarterback leagues.
