Redskins | Aldrick Robinson no lock

Mon, 14 Jul 2014 06:16:48 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Aldrick Robinson will have to show improved route-running ability so the team can use him on more than a handful of plays to make the team. He took some work as a jammer and gunner on punt coverage and return units in the offseason, which could also help him make the team.

Redskins | Alfred Morris busted out long runs

Fri, 11 Jul 2014 07:12:46 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris led the NFL with 10 rushes of 20 or more yards in 2013.

Fantasy Tip: Morris was tied for fifth in 2012 with nine. The likelihood of that momentum continuing took a hit when zone-blocking disciple Kyle Shanahan left his offensive coordinator post and the 'Skins shifted to Jay Gruden's pass-happy attack. There are concerns that Morris will drop off this year in the new system, but Morris remains a solid RB2 with a smidge of receptions upside.

Redskins | Competition at kicker

Fri, 11 Jul 2014 06:33:00 -0700

Washington Redskins PKs Kai Forbath and Zach Hocker will compete for the starting job in training camp. Forbath has the early edge because of experience, but the rookie Hocker has done well on field goal attempts so far in offseason practice. Forbath also has spent the offseason working on kickoffs.

Fantasy Tip: The winner of the battle still will be reserved to waiver wire territory.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III praises Alfred Morris

Thu, 10 Jul 2014 11:07:41 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III thinks RB Alfred Morris is the biggest weapon on the team's offense. "I think everyone would lean towards DeSean or Pierre or Jordan Reed," Griffin III said when asked who the biggest weapon in the Redskins' offense is. "I think it's Alfred. With him, defenses have to make a decision whether to puts guys in the box to stop him or leave the box light and allow Alfred to go between the tackles and lure in the safeties. I think it will be interesting to see what defenses do against him."

Fantasy Tip: There is every reason to believe that Morris will benefit from the addition of DeSean Jackson to the offense and a healthy Robert Griffin III. Morris should return to top form in 2014.

Last year, we had some down times, but overall it's been fun, and I'm excited about this upcoming year about what we have accomplished, I'm so excited about the future for us."

Redskins | Ryan Kerrigan aiming higher

Wed, 09 Jul 2014 18:44:40 -0700

Washington Redskins LB Ryan Kerrigan saw his sack total remain the same from 2012 to 2013, his forced fumbles and tackle totals increase, but his pass breakups dipped. Still, he has been very consistent. However, he is aiming higher in 2014. "I'm tired of being consistent," Kerrigan said. "I want to be consistently really, really good. I don't want to be just consistently average anymore. I want to be consistently good."

Fantasy Tip: Kerrigan is still very young and has emerged as a serviceable fantasy option in deeper individual defensive player (IDP) formats.
