It's the best it's felt in two years and my left knee is not there yet, but it's on its way." Kahne said his left knee swelled up earlier in the season, but it's not a problem now.

NASCAR lifted the six-race suspension against crew chief Chad Knaus and car chief Ron Malec, and they also returned 25 points to Johnson. The $100,000 fine for Knaus was upheld.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson said his team has no replacements for a crew chief and car chief is their suspensions are not overturned. Crew chief Chad Knaus and car chief Ron Malec are still trying to reverse their six-race suspensions. "We felt like last Tuesday it was going to be overturned," Johnson said. "We were shocked with the penalties to start. If things stand, it will be a huge blow to the team. I feel like we can work through it and still have a chance to win races but it will be very, very difficult."

He is expected to be ready to race in the Budweiser Shootout Feb. 18 and the Daytona 500 Feb. 26. There are no plans to have a backup driver at Daytona.
