Fantasy Tip: Martin is coming off an excellent year, and despite some injury risk, he is a solid RB1 candidate if he returns to a Tampa Bay offense that has a young, improving core.

Fantasy Tip: Miller is still transitioning to the receiver position after playing quarterback in college up until last season, but he is an explosive athlete with the ball in his hands. If he lands in a Tampa Bay offense filled with young weapons, he would be worth a late-round flier in fantasy drafts for his potential alone.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers new offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Todd Monken stated in his introductory news conference that his top priority will be to coach the team's receivers. His top priority will be finding a way to cut down on WR Mike Evans' league-leading 11 drops.
Fantasy Tip: Evans saw his catch and yardage totals increase from his rookie year, but watched his touchdown total plummet from 12 in 2014 to three last season with rookie QB Jameis Winston under center. Evans is a prime bounce-back candidate that owners should target as a high-upside WR2 as he enters his third season.

Fantasy Tip: V-Jax, 33, had a down year and is clearly in decline. However, with Mike Evans opposite of him, and Austin Seferian-Jenkins showing signs of budding into a capable receiver, he could have value in PPR leagues to round out your receiving corps.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken said he wants to design and run more explosive plays and trick plays in 2016. "We don't need more five-yard plays," Monken said. "How can we be explosive? That's what the game's about. People like big plays. I like big plays."
Fantasy Tip: Surely Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson are chomping at the bit to get back on the field if this is their new offensive coordinator's mindset. The Buccaneers have the tools to attempt more big plays. Evans, Jackson and Austin Seferian-Jenkins usually tower over their defenders. Bigger plays could help open up Tampa Bay's offense as a whole and give Doug Martin more running space, too.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and RB Doug Martin's representatives have started discussing a contract extension. Martin, who is slated to be a free agent in 2016, finished second for the league rushing title behind Adrian Peterson. He also scored six touchdowns. If the team cannot work out an extension they do not plan on using the franchise tag on him.
Fantasy Tip: Martin has had two Pro Bowl seasons, his rookie season and last season, and two injury-plagued seasons in between. It has been a mixed bag of fantasy results, but when he is in there for the full slate he has been tremendous.

Fantasy Tip: Monken's hiring probably will not change the offense much because Dirk Koetter has said he will call the plays. Jameis Winston, Doug Martin and Mike Evans have a good chance to be starting options for owners next season.

Fantasy Tip: Evans did tally 1,206 yards, but the lack of touchdowns really haunted his fantasy value, especially after scoring 12 times in his rookie year. Evans should have plenty of opportunities again next season under new head coach Dirk Koetter.

Sat, 16 Jan 2016 20:14:32 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Martin piled up more than 1,600 yards from scrimmage this year, and with Koetter moving from offensive coordinator to head coach, Martin should continue to have a featured role in the offensive and provide RB1 value if he is back with Tampa Bay in 2016.
