Buccaneers | Connor Barth released

Mon, 02 May 2016 12:03:19 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Connor Barth was released Monday, May 2.

Fantasy Tip: It's been a rough couple of days for Barth, who has officially been supplanted by rookie kicker Roberto Aguayo. View Aguayo as a lower starting fantasy kicker for now.

Buccaneers | Connor Barth expected to be cut

Mon, 02 May 2016 10:46:31 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Connor Barth is expected to be released Monday, May 2, because the team added PK Roberto Aguayo during the draft.

Fantasy Tip: Barth probably would have a chance to find a job with another team but is not one of the better kickers for fantasy owners.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Ryan Smith anticipates playing a major role in the Buccaneers' defense. Smith believes he can help out Tampa Bay a lot and said he's going to do everything he can to help the team. "I did special teams all my life, in college, and I made plays," Smith said. "I'm going to continue to do the same thing at the next level. I'm going to give it my all."

Buccaneers | Roberto Aguayo first kicker off the board

Fri, 29 Apr 2016 18:20:55 -0700

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Florida State PK Roberto Aguayo with the No. 59 overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft on Friday, April 29.

Fantasy Tip: It's the first time a team has traded up in the first two rounds to take a kicker since 2005. Aguayo is one talented kicker who hardly ever misses, and he should come in immediately and serve as Tampa's booter. Until we see how he fares at the NFL level, he's a low-end fantasy kicking option.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans idle Thursday

Thu, 28 Apr 2016 08:01:17 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (undisclosed) is out of practice at the minicamp Thursday, April 28. Evans tweaked something at the end of the first day of the camp.

Fantasy Tip: If he's watching from the sidelines, it's most likely minor. Evans was limited most of the preseason last year due to a hamstring issue but still delivered a solid 74-1,206-3 season. The three scores was a huge step back from the 12 in his rookie year, so this year will be big in deciphering if Evans is a WR1 or a WR2. He's a high-end WR2 in fantasy with room for more.

Buccaneers | Two Tampa wideouts to get chance in slot

Wed, 27 Apr 2016 22:35:59 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WRs Donteea Dye and Adam Humphries will get a chance for work in the slot during spring practices, along with WR Kenny Bell.

Fantasy Tip: Dye and Humphries will have Bell and veteran Louis Murphy to contend with for playing time. Whomever emerges as the No. 3 wideout in the offense will be worth a look as a No. 5 or 6 receiver for depth on a fantasy roster.

Buccaneers | Kenny Bell ready to make plays

Wed, 27 Apr 2016 22:34:55 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kenny Bell (hamstring) spent the 2015 season, his rookie year, on the Reserve/Injured list due to a hamstring injury, but he stayed connected with the team while the coaching staff made a point to keep him involved in the day-to-day activity, even taking him on every road trip despite his being out. Bell is expected to compete with WRs Donteea Dye and Adam Humphries for slot duties during the spring.

Fantasy Tip: Bell is ready for his chance to make plays after missing his rookie season, and he could be a deep sleeper for fantasy owners if he is able to stay healthy and working his way into one of the top four receiver spots. Bell can also work in the return game, strengthening that unit.
