Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith said the team's offensive line needs to do a better job after they rushed for a total of 66 yards in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. Smith also said the team's pass blocking wasn't at its best. "A defense can tee off on you once you can't run the football," Smith said. "We talk an awful lot about being a balanced attack. But when you can't run it consistently that hurts. Believe me, we don't want to be a team that's passing the ball that much."
Fantasy Tip: It's tough to be too excited about any of the Bucs' running back options with a poor offensive line. Charles Sims, Bobby Rainey and Doug Martin are part of a frustrating backfield in Tampa Bay. They face a pourous Cincinnati Bengals unit in Week 13, though, if you're willing to roll the dice on this running-back-by-committee.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers FB Jorvorskie Lane (ankle) will have surgery on his broken right ankle Tuesday, Nov. 25, and he'll miss the rest of the year. Lane is unsure how long he'll take to recover. The Buccaneers are left without a true fullback, and they'll likely sign one. TE Luke Stocker has served as a fullback at times.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (ankle) returned to the lineup in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. He carried 11 times for 27 yards. He was sidelined for the past three games due to an ankle injury.
Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore owners should avoid Martin until he starts to show a little more consistency. Rust was inevitable after a long layoff, especially on the road against a decent defense.

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers FB Jorvorskie Lane (ankle) was carted off in the second quarter of the Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears due to what head coach Lovie Smith said Sunday, Nov. 23, is a "serious" right ankle injury.

Fantasy Tip: Evans has emerged as a must-start FantasyScore option, even as his price tag has continued to rise. He continues to score touchdowns and pay for himself.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to watch for an update in the next day or so. Seferian-Jenkins has been relatively quiet the last few games but has a solid role in the team's passing game.

Fantasy Tip: Martin ($3,000; 6.0% of your cap) should work his way back into the mix this week. We don't expect this situation to be more than a split between Martin and Charles Sims ($4,700; 9.4%). Martin is worth the bargain buy, but Sims could see more action this week.

Fantasy Tip: Martin will cost $3,000 in FantasyScore this week, and is a risky play because he has not done much this year. Charles Sims will likely get most of the work if Martin can't go, and will cost $4,700 this week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Lavonte David (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 21, and is questionable. RB Charles Sims (ankle) and CB Alterraun Verner (hamstring) both were limited in practice and are questionable.

Fantasy Tip: Martin ($3,000) may return in Week 12 to face the Chicago Bears, but he hasn't done much all season. Sims ($4,700), on the other hand, has effectively replaced Bobby Rainey as the lead back. The Bears are allowing just over 16 fantasy points per game to rushers this year. Consider Sims more of a flex play this week at FantasyScore, and his value will suffer if Martin returns.
