Rams | Tre Mason's family worried

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 07:01:29 -0700

Los Angeles Rams RB Tre Mason's family is worried about his mental state after the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept. was called to his house five times since March 28. During one of those visits, Mason agreed to check into a facility but failed to do so. The last incident was Saturday, July 23, but Mason was not arrested. Mason has not been accused of hurting anyone during the incidents. However, on one occasion, a family member told cops she didn't want Mason to leave the house because he hadn't slept in days, and she was worried "he will get hurt."

Fantasy Tip: Mason could face league discipline for his arrest, but he isn't in a position to be much of a fantasy contributor behind Todd Gurley and Benny Cunningham.

Rams | Todd Gurley ready for first full camp

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 19:30:22 -0700

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) will be close to two full years removed from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and conventional wisdom says players generally do not get back to full strength until two years after the injury. He will go through his first full training camp, and running backs coach Skip Peete said there is no limit to what Gurley can accomplish in his second NFL season.

Fantasy Tip: Gurley is a bona fide first-round pick in all formats, and is the new face of fantasy football among running backs. He might emerge sooner, rather than later, if not already, as the No. 1 overall back at his position for fantasy purposes.

Rams | Tyler Higbee might have big chance

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 19:29:07 -0700

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee might see plenty of opportunities sooner rather than later, and some in the organization feel he might be the team's best pass-catching tight end on the roster.

Fantasy Tip: Higbee likely only needs to leapfrog Lance Kendricks to secure the starting job in L.A. Currently he is only worth putting on a 'watch list', and not drafting. However, if he has a strong preseason, and especially if Kendricks suffers an injury, watch Higbee for fantasy purposes.

Rams | Two safeties battling to start

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 19:28:29 -0700

The Los Angeles Rams plan to look at FS Cody Davis and S Christian Bryant as replacements for FS Rodney McLeod (Eagles). The duo rotated with the first-team defense during organized team activities (OTAs). The team might also have interest in free-agents FS Dashon Goldson (Redskins) and SS Donte Whitner (Bills) if Bryant and Davis do not pan out.

Rams | Alec Ogletree could elevate defense

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 19:27:46 -0700

Los Angeles Rams LB Alec Ogletree (ankle) was on the verge of a breakout season last year before suffering an ankle injury. Beat writer Nick Wagoner says Ogletree brings a level of athleticism and speed to his new position that could help elevate the defense to the lofty expectations it has had the past couple of seasons.

Rams | All eyes on Jared Goff

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 19:27:03 -0700

The Los Angeles Rams are hopeful QB Jared Goff will win the starting job sooner rather than later and he likely will, according to beat writer Nick Wagoner. However, his development through training camp and the preseason will be critical in shaping the team's expectations and season.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Goff can win the starting gig early in the process, he should still only be considered a Top 25 fantasy option at his position. He is obviously much more attractive in long-term keeper formats.

Rams | Nick Foles should be at camp

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 11:47:12 -0700

Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles is expected to be present for training camp as the Rams wait for a quarterback vacancy or possible trade partner.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Foles stays with the club, he'll be behind Jared Goff and Case Keenum. Foles can be avoided in all formats.

Rams | Todd Gurley impressed with Jared Goff

Sun, 10 Jul 2016 05:26:11 -0700

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff has impressed RB Todd Gurley. "Couldn't ask for a better QB. We are just excited to have him (here)," Gurley said Friday, July 8. "He's definitely learning. He's getting better. Just excited to play the upcoming season with him."

Fantasy Tip: Goff is battling Case Keenum to be the starting quarterback, and there have been conflicting reports on the rookie's readiness. Gurley's endorsement doesn't have significant merit, but it is encouraging that the two cornerstones of the offense are clicking early on. Goff is a low-end No. 2 quarterback and best left to the waiver wire outside of two-QB leagues and dynasty/keeper setups.

Rams | Los Angeles hoping for explosive offense

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 19:38:43 -0700

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley will be the focal point of the offense, offensive coordinator Rob Boras said, but head coach Jeff Fisher said the ball will be spread around a little more to try to generate explosive plays.

Fantasy Tip: Gurley is one of the few workhorse backs left in the NFL, and he should be one of the first running backs off the board in all formats.

Rams | Los Angeles prepping for no Tre Mason

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 20:14:12 -0700

Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said the team is preparing as if RB Tre Mason won't be there. Mason has been absent from OTAs following an arrest in March.

Fantasy Tip: Todd Gurley is the workhorse in the Los Angeles backfield, but whoever emerges as his primary backup could be worth stashing in case Gurley suffers an injury.
