"You like to think so, but right now I'm worrying about this year," Haslett said. "Coaches live year-to-year anyways, so I'm going to try to worry about this year and these next 12 games and try to win some games. Hopefully we can turn this thing around."

Holt said he went up to Bulger and apologized for the offense's performance thus far. "You know I was shocked, man," Holt said. "I was really shocked. First and foremost, I went up to Marc immediately and apologized to him as a receiver. And (apologized) for our receiving group, and for our offense - for not making enough plays to give him an opportunity to stay on the football field with us as we move forward in the fourth week."

If that's his feeling, he's never mentioned that to me. You have to ask him that particular question."

"He's our general," said Jackson, who then pointed out that you don't pay someone "$60-something million" and then sit him on the bench. Jackson also wondered aloud about what will happen when it's time for Bulger to return to the starting lineup? Jackson intimated strongly that Bulger would be unwilling to do so.
