Seahawks | Two players battling at center

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 13:16:14 -0700

Seattle Seahawks Cs Lemuel Jeanpierre and Drew Nowak seem to be in a two-man battle for the starting center position. Jeanpierre received first-team repetitions during organized team activities and minicamp, but Nowak was also given first-team repetitions at center during minicamp. Jeanpierre still appears to be the favorite, however, thanks to his experience in offensive line coach Tom Cable's zone-blocking system.

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 11:58:49 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Douglas McNeil may have a hard time solidifying a spot on the final roster, according to John Boyle of seahawks.com. WRs Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse are locks, while McNeil would likely have to pass at least one of WRs Paul Richardson, Tyler Lockett, Chris Matthews and Kevin Norwood.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson hasn't ruled out baseball

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 14:18:05 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said he would consider playing professional baseball in addition to professional football if he were traded to the Seattle Mariners.

Fantasy Tip: This is obviously a hypothetical and farfetched situation, but Wilson did say it's been a dream of his to play both sports professionally. Focusing on football, however, Wilson remains one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL. His running ability gives him a big boost in fantasy realms. He should be drafted as a top-five quarterback this year.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson will be ready to play

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 11:58:03 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said he will be ready to play this season whether he's making $25 million or $1.5 million. Wilson has expressed his desire to stay in Seattle and added that, when the time comes, he will let his play do the talking.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson and a possible new contract have garnered a lot of attention this offseason. Wilson has been calm and collected about the situation, at least on the outside, and is primed to have another standout season, especially with new weapons like Jimmy Graham. Wilson should be drafted as a top-five fantasy quarterback.

Seahawks | Tyler Lockett draws praise

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 19:05:17 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett has drawn positive reviews from WR Doug Baldwin, who feels the rookie out of Kansas State is "going to be an impact player for us right off the bat."

Fantasy Tip: Lockett is expected to see plenty of time as a kickoff and punt returner, and his primary position is expected to be in the slot where he will make an impact on offense. He is a nice sleeper as a WR3/4 or flex fantasy option heading into draft day.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin wants to play special teams

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 19:03:17 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin said Monday, June 29, that he wants to contribute more on special teams. "I want to help out more so on special teams in terms of on kickoff, punt return blocking, Baldwin said.

Fantasy Tip: That's all well and good, but fantasy owners won't like that. There is more chance for injury while he is not racking up statistics to help teams. It might be best to let Baldwin be someone else's potential problem.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson wants to stay put?

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 21:00:15 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said the goal is to remain in Seattle for "a really, really long time" when asked about his contract situation at the Russell Wilson Passing Academy Saturday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has sent mixed messages this offseason, hinting that he would be willing to leave Seattle and now saying he hopes to stay. Either way, he should be a low-end QB1 in 2015 after Jimmy Graham was added to the offense in the offseason.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson wants guaranteed money

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 14:49:20 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson wants a considerable portion of his next contract to be guaranteed. This is considered the biggest stumbling block in Wilson's extension talks, as the league's funding rule requires all money of any future payments to be paid into escrow upon signing.

Fantasy Tip: Seahawks owner Paul Allen certainly has the financial means to make this work, so it shouldn't be too big of a concern. Either way, Wilson seems dead set on getting what he wants during contract talks, and the NFLPA may need to step in at some point.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson looking for big deal

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 12:12:59 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is looking to become the highest-paid player in the league with his next contract, according to sources. Wilson's agent understands that any contract extension Wilson receives will be surpassed by another player in the future.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson will be entering the final year of his contract, so the team has time to reach a long-term agreement. He is coming off a solid season with 3,475 passing yards and 20 touchdowns and now has Jimmy Graham to throw to this season. Owners should consider Wilson as a low-end No. 1 quarterback with a chance to improve his value.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse likely for every down

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 09:26:24 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse is likely to be an every-down receiver for the team in 2015. He is a versatile receiver that excels at blocking.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse had a 38-537-1 season last year, which won't open many eyes. In his fourth season with consistent playing time, he could be worth a WR5 flyer.
