Seahawks | Russell Wilson made history last year

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 15:53:38 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson became the fastest quarterback to win 50 games in NFL history. Wilson has started for the Seahawks since the first game of his rookie season in 2012 and has not missed a game since then. He is tied with Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan for the most wins in a quarterback's first five seasons (56).

Fantasy Tip: Wilson struggled with injuries through the first several games of last season, but his toughness prevailed. Despite throwing just 21 touchdowns, Wilson still achieved QB1 status, partly thanks to his running ability. As long as he remains healthy, Wilson should be drafted as a QB1.

Seahawks | Luke Willson intends to test market

Thu, 16 Feb 2017 18:16:05 -0800

Seattle Seahawks TE Luke Willson has "made it clear" that he intends to test the open market this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: It appears the Seahawks won't be able to afford his services, as they're already paying starting TE Jimmy Graham $10 million, and have a fine backup on the rise in Nick Vannett. Willson would be better suited going elsewhere anyway if he wants more playing time, so departing Seattle is probably a wise decision for the 27-year-old.

Seahawks | C.J. Prosise will be ready for OTAs

Thu, 16 Feb 2017 08:31:26 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (shoulder) is expected to be ready for organized team activities and minicamp. He's slated to be the third-down back and a change-of-pace option on early downs.

Fantasy Tip: Prosise will play second fiddle to Thomas Rawls, but he'll have some handcuff and RB5 luster in fantasy.

Seahawks | Steven Hauschka may not return

Fri, 10 Feb 2017 16:11:27 -0800

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent PK Steven Hauschka may not re-sign with the team this offseason because the Seahawks signed PK Blair Walsh earlier this week.

Fantasy Tip: Hauschka probably will receive interest from multiple teams if he hits the free-agent market. He struggled at times this season but can still be a starting option for fantasy owners in 2017.

Seahawks | Seattle signs Blair Walsh

Thu, 09 Feb 2017 13:40:21 -0800

Free-agent PK Blair Walsh (Vikings) signed an undisclosed deal with the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, Feb. 9, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Steven Hauschka looks to be heading towards free agency, so Walsh is seemingly the 'Hawks' backup plan if/when Hauschka is not re-signed. Kickers are a dime a dozen in fantasy football, so it's OK to stay away from Walsh even if he does start, although he's not the worst low-end PK1 consideration.

Seahawks | Seattle could avoid major punishment

Sun, 05 Feb 2017 07:50:57 -0800

The Seattle Seahawks are unlikely to be penalized heavily by the National Football League - and could escape punishment altogether - despite failing to disclose CB Richard Sherman's knee injury during the regular season, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The issue was never listed on an official injury report even though head coach Pete Carroll admitted at the end of the year that Sherman had been dealing with a minor MCL problem. Sherman did not miss any game time and even participated in the Pro Bowl at the end of the season.

Seahawks | Jimmy Graham admits he barely practiced

Tue, 31 Jan 2017 19:27:07 -0800

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham admitted at the Pro Bowl that he "barely practiced" during the weeks leading up to Sundays this season so that he'd be ready for the games. In addition, he "barely" did any work in the offseason or training camp either, according to teammates.

Fantasy Tip: Graham was returning from a torn patellar tendon, a serious injury that many thought would severely hobble him throughout the rest of his career, but instead, the former New Orleans Saint responded with a 65-catch, six-touchdown season, which also included his most receiving yards (923) since 2013. With a normal offseason on tap, it's very possible Graham reclaims the top ranking amongst all NFL tight ends in 2017. He should be monitored closely in all drafts.
