Seahawks | Seattle expects to run more often in 2017

Fri, 19 May 2017 12:50:36 -0700

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said this week the Seahawks will run the ball more often this season. The team added Eddie Lacy to a backfield that already had a pair of injury-prone players in C.J. Prosise and Thomas Rawls. "We definitely will. We lost 100-something runs last year. And that was basically the story. That was basically the tale of why everything came about as it did. … With the quarterback being a mess and the running back situation, everybody being banged up, we were just unable to find it. So I think we'll come roaring right back at it," Carroll said.

Fantasy Tip: The offensive line was as much to blame for the drop of production in the running game as much as anything. Regardless, Lacy should lead the backfield in touches, while Rawls may be best-suited for a change-of-pace role given his injury history. Prosise figures to have a firm grasp on passing-down duties.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy has more incentives

Thu, 18 May 2017 14:58:33 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy can earn $1.3 million if he rushes for at least 1,200 yards this season. Rushing for a minimum of 800 yards will cash him in for $250,000, 900 yards will be $500,000, 1,000 yards will be $750,000 and $1,100 yards would earn him $1 million. He has already gained $55,000 for not exceeding 255 pounds.

Fantasy Tip: Lacy's incentives will be difficult to reach with Thomas Rawls in the fold. Lacy does have more appeal, though, and deserves a look as a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 in standard leagues.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy passes weight test

Mon, 15 May 2017 12:14:26 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy earned $55,000 Monday, May 15, for weighing 253 pounds -- two below the limit Seattle set for him.

Fantasy Tip: Lacy's weight has been an issue in the past, but he appears to be committed, at least for now, to get into football shape this offseason. Much was made of his P90X workouts last offseason, but an ankle injury sidelined Lacy for 11 games last season. He'll have a fresh start in Seattle, but he'll also be competing with Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise. A crowded backfield makes Lacy no more than a flex consideration in mid-to-late rounds.

Seahawks | Seattle looking at free-agent quarterbacks

Mon, 15 May 2017 11:12:56 -0700

Free-agent QBs Colin Kaepernick (49ers) and Robert Griffin III (Browns) have drawn interest from the Seattle Seahawks as possible backups to QB Russell Wilson.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson's job is not in jeopardy. Kaepernick and Griffin both possess similar playing styles to Wilson, though, so signing either of them as Wilson's backup makes sense. Continue to draft Wilson as a QB1.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy weigh-in beckons

Mon, 15 May 2017 06:33:47 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy is due for a weigh-in Monday, May 15. If he weighs 255 pounds or less, he'll earn $35,000.

Fantasy Tip: Lacy will have the chance to run the ball on first and second down in Seattle, and he'll be in the RB3 mix in fantasy.
