Seahawks | C.J. Prosise should play Thursday

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 13:43:36 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hamstring) is expected to see some playing time Thursday, Aug. 25, against the Dallas Cowboys if he continues to progress, according to offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.

Fantasy Tip: Prosise has practiced minimally this offseason because of his nagging hamstring injury. His first professional action, albeit in the preseason, will be a welcome occurrence after such a tumultuous offseason. He still has to finish the uphill battle he's in, though, and will also be battling Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael for touches in the regular season. Don't completely overlook the rookie, though. He has more upside in PPR leagues and is worth a late-round pick.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls on track to start Week 1

Sun, 21 Aug 2016 16:38:43 -0700

Updating a previous story, Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) "looks really good" and the general consensus is that he'll be ready for Week 1. "I think the signs are very positive that he's going to be ready in a couple weeks to play. Right now, we just want to see him come back day after day and keep battling, really digging in like he does and competing like he does, just to show that he's all right. He's doing everything right so we're really happy with him," head coach Pete Carroll told reporters.

Fantasy Tip: The previous report was relatively vague in regards to Rawls' return, but this report suggests he's much more likely than not to lead the Seahawks' backfield against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. Christine Michael figures to remain in the mix and could possible receive possibly a third of the carries plus some third-down work, but Rawls appears to have a firm grasp on the early-down role. He's still a high-risk, high-reward RB2, however.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls to return in two weeks?

Sun, 21 Aug 2016 15:52:47 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) should return "in a couple weeks", according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Fantasy Tip: Christine Michael's emergence has likely emboldened the Seattle coaching staff to be as conservative as possible with Rawls' return. Carroll's optimism suggests Rawls will be ready for at least part-time work in Week 1, although that is far from a given. For now, owners need to treat Rawls like a high-risk, high-reward RB2 who may begin the season inactive or sharing carries with Michael.

Seahawks | Teammates talk up Christine Michael

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 18:16:34 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Christine Michael has learned how to use his speed, according to QB Russell Wilson, and FS Earl Thomas said the game has "slowed down" for Michael. C Justin Britt said the "whole building" can see Michael's work ethic and determination.

Fantasy Tip: Michael is having a strong preseason, and it seems increasingly likely he will be given a chance to prove his worth in the regular season. He has loads of potential, and he is worth taking a chance on as a RB4.

Seahawks | Christine Michael plays well again

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 14:59:25 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Christine Michael rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries in the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings Thursday, Aug. 18. He has rushed for 99 yards in the first two preseason games and is averaging 5.82 yards per rush.

Fantasy Tip: Michael is making a push for more playing time and could share some of the work with Thomas Rawls this season if he continues to produce. Michael could be a low-end No. 3 or a high-end No. 4 running back for fantasy owners depending on his role.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls back next week

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 08:25:54 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) will practice fully next week, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Rawls could play in the third preseason game, but Carroll said they'd make that decision late next week.

Fantasy Tip: Rawls was a stud before he broke his ankle, and that uncertainty is probably the only thing keeping him in the RB2 mix. He's in a good system that depends on the run, and you're in a good spot with him as a second back in fantasy.

Seahawks | Troymaine Pope has big game

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 07:23:28 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Troymaine Pope rushed 10 times for 86 yards and a touchdown in the second preseason game Thursday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Pope is fourth on the depth chart, but it's not unreasonable to think he could leapfrog Alex Collins. His fantasy value is minimal for now, but keep him in mind if Thomas Rawls or Christine Michael go down.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls making progress

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 14:24:04 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (knee) has been performing well during practice and may be able to play in the team's third preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Rawls appears to be on track to play in Week 1 and should receive most of the carries this season. He posted solid numbers last season and likely will be a low-end No. 1 or a high-end No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

Seahawks | Jimmy Graham uncertain for Week 1

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 14:11:37 -0700

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee) should see more work on the field over the next few weeks, but head coach Pete Carroll said the team is not sure if Graham will be ready for Week 1. "Really we're shooting for: Where is he at the start of the season? And we'll evaluate then on how much longer it may take, or he may be ready. We don't know that yet. But he feels good," Carroll said.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation over the next few weeks to see if Graham will have to miss any regular season games. He will look to be more involved in the passing game this season when he is ready to play and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in leagues.

Seahawks | C.J. Prosise on the bubble?

Tue, 16 Aug 2016 20:00:13 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hamstring) has missed the first two weeks of training camp and beat writer Curtis Crabtree considers him to be on the bubble, only due to his bevy of injuries, behind RBs Thomas Rawls, Christine Michael and Alex Collins, who are considered locks for the roster.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks used a high pick for Prosise, so he'll make the roster in some way shape or form, although his fantasy outlook is very murky since he has fallen so far behind due to a hip flexor in offseason workouts and his current hamstring injury. Right now he is only worth a late-round flier as an RB5, with more value in long-term keeper formats.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls in team drills

Mon, 15 Aug 2016 13:27:34 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (knee) participated in team drills Monday, Aug. 15, for the first time all offseason.

Fantasy Tip: As has been declared many times, Rawls is expected to be ready for the regular season opener. The Seahawks may not give him a full workload right away, but he's still in RB1 territory as he takes over lead running back duties in Seattle.

Seahawks | C.J. Prosise practicing

Mon, 15 Aug 2016 11:53:46 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hamstring) was in pads and on the field for practice Monday, Aug. 15. The extent of his participation was unclear.

Fantasy Tip: Any action is good action for Prosise after the latent offseason the rookie has had so far. Prosise is capable of taking over the third-down role for the Seahawks in his inaugural campaign, but he needs to get healthy first. Target him as a late-round option with added value in PPR formats.
