Seattle Seahawks DT Brandon Mebane (hamstring) is back from season-ending hamstring surgery last year and said he is good to go. However, the Seahawks will take a cautious approach with him during training camp drills.

Seattle Seahawks WR Chris Matthews is seeing plenty of time with the team's top-end receiver rotation including WRs Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse. Matthews looks to be building off his big performance in the Super Bowl last year. WRs Ricardo Lockette and Tyler Lockett could be fighting for a roster spot. WR Paul Richardson (knee) is on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews has some real nice big-play ability, and he'll certainly enter the season as a deep fantasy wideout sleeper. The fact that the Seahawks run the ball a lot will make it tough for Matthews to be a consistent contributor unless an injury opens up more looks for him.

The Seattle Seahawks appear likely to use more two-tight end formats with TEs Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson on the team this season in offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell's system. TEs Anthony McCoy, Cooper Helfet and Rashaun Allen are also competing for spots. Graham will need to do more blocking for RB Marshawn Lynch than he's done in the past with the New Orleans Saints if the Seahawks go to more two-tight end formations. Injuries and New Orleans system rarely relied on Graham for blocking in the running game. "I know 3rd-and-10, 3rd-and-12, that's when I'm going to have to make my money," Graham said, "and that's when I'm going to have to be special for this team."
Fantasy Tip: It seems likely that Graham's production for fantasy owners will take a dip this year with Seattle. However, he can still be a TE1 for his owners if he's used often in third-and-long situations and in the red zone.

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham said the priority of blocking is on par with making receptions in his new offense. "It's very important for me to be a part of that here because that's about 75 percent of the offense here and if you have a back like (Marshawn Lynch), you want to be in there on those explosive runs and you want to be part of that," Graham said. "Third-and-10 is when I'm going to make my money, and that's when I'm going to have to be special for this team."
Fantasy Tip: Graham's numbers are expected to fall short of the astronomical years he had in New Orleans. However, he's still in the elite tier at the position and should continue to be a beast in the red zone. He probably shouldn't be taken in the first round this year, though.

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson's four-year extension breaks down as base salaries of $700,000 in 2015, $12.34 million in 2016, $12.6 million in 2017, $15.5 million in 2018 and $17 million in 2019. He received $31 million in signing bonus money.

Updating an ongoing story, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $87.6 million. He'll receive $21 million in signing bonus money and $60 million guaranteed in total.
Fantasy Tip: All of the concerns are now moot ... Wilson is a top-five fantasy quarterback buy and is distraction-free entering crunch time.

Seattle Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor didn't show up for training camp Thursday, July 30, as he appears to be set to follow through on his threat of holding out while awaiting a new contract. If Chancellor is absent Friday, July 31, it'll officially be considered a holdout.

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is talking with the Seahawks about a contract extension, but the two sides may not reach an agreement before the start of training camp, according to sources. The two sides do not appear to be in agreement about the amount of money up front or the guaranteed money.
Fantasy Tip: Wilson is not expected to hold out if he does not receive an extension, so he will play this season. Wilson has the ability to produce as a passer as well as a runner, which gives him an advantage over other quarterbacks. He should be a solid starting option in all leagues.
