Seahawks | Luke Joeckel will miss several weeks

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 13:23:10 -0700

Seattle Seahawks OT Luke Joeckel (knee) will miss four to five weeks following the knee surgery he had during the Seahawks' Week 6 bye. OG Mark Glowinski and C Ethan Pocic will compete for the starting left guard position in his absence and both could play in Week 7, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Seahawks | C.J. Prosise should play this week

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 13:06:15 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (ankle) is expected to take the field this week against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Prosise will not have played for about a month when he suits up this weekend. It's usually best to wait at least a week before starting an injured player who's been out for a while. Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls and J.D. McKissic will all be competing for touches as well, so it's advisable to wait and see how Prosise looks and how involved he'll be.

Seahawks | J.D. McKissic praised by QB, coach

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 18:46:23 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB J.D. McKissic has shown "nothing but good stuff," according to head coach Pete Carroll, and QB Russell Wilson praised McKissic's running ability. "He is as fast as lightning," Wilson said. "He is physical, doesn't mind hitting you, can catch the ball, can do a lot of things, and is smart."

Seahawks | No separation yet in Seattle backfield

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 17:16:08 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RBs Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls are expected to continue sharing the early-down workload for the foreseeable future, according to head coach Pete Carroll. "There's no reason to have any criteria for it right now because we like our guys, and really, equal status now is good for us. We'll see how they do," Carroll said.

Fantasy Tip: Neither back did anything to separate themselves in Week 6, as Rawls (eight carries, 20 yards) nor Lacy (nine carries, 19 yards) both finished with 10 touches. Lacy started the game and they alternated series early, although Rawls ended up playing more snaps 32-19. Rawls is clearly the more explosive running back of the two, although his aggressive running style makes him the more injury-prone player of the two as well. Both backs should continue to sit on fantasy benches until a clear leader emerges.

Seahawks | C.J. Prosise to return after bye

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 13:22:09 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (ankle) will return to action following the Seahawks' Week 6 bye, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Fantasy Tip: Seattle's backfield is a crapshoot since Chris Carson is out for the year. Prosise has more intrigue in PPR leagues, while Thomas Rawls and Eddie Lacy should be viewed as no more than flex options. Rawls does have an edge over Lacy for the remainder of the season.

Seahawks | Paul Richardson, Tyler Lockett do little

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 20:37:09 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WRs Paul Richardson and Tyler Lockett each had three receptions in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams, with Richardson posting 35 yards and Lockett going for 26.

Fantasy Tip: Both players are battling for targets as the No. 2 wide receiver, but neither is seizing the job. Until one emerges as the clear-cut No. 2 behind Doug Baldwin they're nothing more than WR4 or flex options in deeper fantasy leagues.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin posts four grabs

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 20:36:36 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin posted four receptions for 37 yards on eight targets in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin was dealing with a groin injury earlier this week, so perhaps that slowed him a bit in this one. He has three games with 44 or fewer yards over the past four outings, not exactly what you expect out of a borderline WR1/2. He'll have two weeks to get it together with a bye in Week 6.
