Seahawks | Tyler Lockett an impact player

Sun, 24 Jun 2018 20:19:56 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett said he is healthier than he has ever been, and head coach Pete Carroll said having Lockett healthy is "really positive" for the offense.

Fantasy Tip: Lockett should be the No. 2 receiver for Seattle this year. He brings some injury risk, but Lockett has WR3 upside if you are willing to take the chance.

Seahawks | Earl Thomas extension unlikely

Thu, 21 Jun 2018 07:28:35 -0700

Seattle Seahawks FS Earl Thomas seems unlikely to receive a contract extension from the club, in the opinion of beat writer Brady Henderson. The Seahawks brass has previously extended many core players, but general manager John Schneider used the distinction that many of those extensions a year ahead of free agency were with players on rookie deal. Thomas is not.

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall not guaranteed a spot

Wed, 20 Jun 2018 23:52:01 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall (hamstring, toe) is no lock to make the 53-man roster, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. This is due to the team's limited financial commitment, which is insurance in case Marshall doesn't heal as well as they hope or if they see more value in retaining a younger option.

Fantasy Tip: Obviously the team hopes Marshall heals nicely and shows signs of his earlier prowess as a receiver, due in no small part to the veteran's size in an otherwise small group. Still, it's good to remember that this is a low-risk signing for Seattle, which makes Marshall little more than a late-round flier for fantasy owners.

Seahawks | Michael Dickson may be edge for punter job

Seahawks | SEA playing it cautious with Brandon Marshall

Sun, 17 Jun 2018 17:19:43 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall (hamstring) skipped organized team activities and the minicamp, but coach Pete Carroll indicates the team is fine with this as long as Marshall keeps recovering.

Fantasy Tip: If Marshall stays healthy heading into the season, he and Russell Wilson could develop a rapport. For now, pencil in Marshall as late-round flier, at best.

Seahawks | Chris Carson most impressive RB in Seattle?

Fri, 15 Jun 2018 11:54:03 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson has been "the most impressive of any running back (in the team's offseason practices) this summer", and general manager John Schneider has said that at times Carson looks like the best player on the field, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson.

Fantasy Tip: While the Seahawks couldn't have known Carson was going to drop their jaws when they drafted Rashaad Penny in April, it was clear running back was far from their biggest need. Carson was the best back in Seattle last season by a wide margin, and it now appears he stands a real chance to push Penny hard for the starting job. Early drafters should not hesitate spending a late-round pick on Carson in the event he forces a backfield split or even possibly wins the starting job in the preseason.

Seahawks | Rashaad Penny earning trust

Thu, 14 Jun 2018 18:45:18 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny looks "comfortable" in pass protection, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Fantasy Tip: After being selected in the first round, Penny is going to be given a chance to show his stuff. Carroll continues to talk him up as an every-down back, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him deliver RB2 production as a rookie.

Seahawks | Chris Carson working with the starters

Wed, 13 Jun 2018 23:22:31 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson has been working with the first-team offense and ahead of rookie RB Rashaad Penny during minicamp. Carson earned praise from head coach Pete Carroll during OTAs as well.

Fantasy Tip: It's still too early to jump to any conclusions, but Carson continues to get rave reviews, and Seattle showed with the Matt Flynn-Russell Wilson situation years ago that they'll go with the best player regardless of investment. Keep an eye on Carson as we get into training camp and the preseason.
