San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick is open to the possibility of using an independent quarterback coach in the first three months of the offseason. Players aren't allowed to work with their NFL coaches from the end of the season until April 6, at the earliest. "It's hard to break habits in season," Kaepernick said. "You don't want to completely try to change something because it can throw off everything else you're doing."
Fantasy Tip: Kaepernick has had a rough season as he's struggled in the passing game from the pocket. If he can work on his footwork and accuracy within the pocket, he could make strides and have a bounce-back season in 2015. In Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals with nothing on the line for the Niners, Kaepernick is probably a low-end QB1 option at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree may be healthy, but he isnít worth using at FantasyScore in Week 17. He has had less than 20 receiving yards in three of his last four games, including one catch for five yards last week.

Fantasy Tip: Check back Friday for a clearer picture on Ellington's status. He had a coming out party last Saturday against the Chargers, and could be in line for more targets in the regular season finale.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($5,555) has really had a disappointing season, as has the rest of the Niners offense this year. You shouldn't be looking to start him in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals.

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore said he would like to return to the team next season. Gore is the franchise's all-time leading rusher, and he needs just 38 yards in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals to reach his fourth straight 1,000-yard season and eighth in 10 seasons. Gore said he hasn't had talks with the front office about returning next year, but general manager Trent Baalke said there is mutual interest in keeping him around.
Fantasy Tip: After a great Week 16, Gore ($5,555) faces an Arizona team that has been stout against the run all year long. That makes Gore a candidate to disappoint FantasyScore owners.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($5,555) figures to square off against Patrick Peterson this Sunday, so he could be in for a rough day, especially if he's hampered by the injury. On the season, the Arizona Cardinals as a whole have only allowed 11 touchdowns through 15 games to wide receivers.

The San Francisco 49ers are looking into whether LB Aldon Smith was drinking with former teammate Ray McDonald the night of Dec. 15th, along with a woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted by McDonald the night before. "We're certainly going to look into it," general manager Trent Baalke said. "In this situation, I think, there are different situations, and we treat each situation differently, but yet we're certainly going to look into it."
