San Francisco 49ers RB Shaun Draughn was limited to just one rush and no receptions on one target in Week 7 with RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) exiting early. He and RB Mike Davis are expected to split carries if Hyde is sidelined, according to head coach Chip Kelly.
Fantasy Tip: Draughn has the experience, but Davis had six touches to just one for Draughn last week. Draughn would be worth a look as a flex option in deeper fantasy leagues against the league's 16th rush defense.

San Francisco 49ers RB Mike Davis is likely to split carries with RB Shaun Draughn in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) expected to sit. Head coach Chip Kelly suggested the workload split Wednesday, Oct. 19. "We'd rotate all the backs in that case," Kelly said. "If Carlos can't go, you'd see both those guys."
Fantasy Tip: Davis had five carries and a reception to just one rush for Draughn, so Davis could be a deep one-week sleeper for fantasy owners in deeper leagues and DFS play against the Buccaneers rush defense, which is statistically 16th in the NFL.

San Francisco 49ers CB Jimmie Ward (quadriceps) said Wednesday, Oct. 19, that he will return to the field in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after missing the past three games due to a quadriceps injury.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) said Wednesday, Oct. 19, that he expects to miss just one game. "It's definitely not long term, which is good," Hyde said. He expects to return in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints after the team's bye in Week 8.
Fantasy Tip: With Hyde sidelined it will be Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis sidelined. Avoid Hyde until he is healthy and can make it through a full game without any setbacks.

Fantasy Tip: McDonald was able to play in the last game but was held to 25 yards during that game. He will continue to see a decent number of targets in the passing game and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley was held to 12 yards in the team's Week 6 game but should still have a solid role in the pass game. He will have a favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and can be a flex option in deeper leagues.

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 19, and is not expected to play in Week 7. RBs Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn likely would split carries if Hyde is ruled out.
Fantasy Tip: Neither Davis nor Draughn has posted great numbers so far this season, but both should see some playing time in Week 7. Owners in deeper leagues could consider using Draughn as a flex option, while Davis could be a wild card for owners in daily fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Hyde played a season-low 32 snaps in Week 6 but returned to the game after suffering the injury, which would seem to bode well for his ability to play in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mike Davis saw a season-high 24 snaps while presumed handcuff Shaun Draughn logged only five, possibly suggesting Davis has overtaken Draughn as the main backup. As such, Davis is worth a speculative add in deeper leagues for the injury-prone Hyde.

Fantasy Tip: Kaepernick was OK in his first start of the season. What makes him attractive from a fantasy standpoint is his running ability. He led the 49ers with 66 rushing yards last week. The matchup is decent, but he is best used as a cheap play in daily formats in order to spend up at other positions.
Sun, 16 Oct 2016 14:05:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kerley had a big role in the passing game in the previous two games but was quiet in Week 6. He should still receive targets moving forward but should only be a flex option in deeper leagues.
