San Diego Chargers RB Donald Brown saw most of the snaps after RB Ryan Mathews (knee) went down in the Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks. He finished with seven carries for 21 yards while also added three receptions for 10 yards. RB Danny Woodhead actually led the team with 32 yards on eight rushes, and he had four catches for 28 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Brown and Woodhead should each see increased touches for as long as Mathews is sidelined. Both are decent low-end RB2s or flex plays heading into Week 3.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers completed 28 of his 37 pass attempts for 284 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 2 win against the Seattle Seahawks. He is the first opposing quarterback since Week 8 of the 2012 (Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford) to throw for three or more touchdown passes against Seattle.

Updating a previous report, San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews (knee) is scheduled to undergo an MRI for his injured knee, according to a source. There is concern he might have a sprained medial collateral ligament.

Fantasy Tip: With Mathews down, Donald Brown and Danny Woodhead will see an increase in their touches. If Mathews is forced to miss time going forward, both Brown and Woodhead might be solid values in FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Owners can consider starting Gates this week, but they may need to lower their expectations since he is playing against the Seattle Seahawks. Owners could also bench Gates if they have a better option.

Fantasy Tip: Allen should be in starting lineups this week but will be facing a tough Seattle Seahawks defense, so owners may need to lower their expectations.

Fantasy Tip: Gates has a decent price in FantasyScore at $4,100 (8.2% of cap), but the match up is not ideal. Look for other options this week.

Fantasy Tip: Allen has been a full participant in practice all week, and will be good to go in Week 2. Allen is a decent option in FantasyScore with a price of $6,100 (12.2% of cap).

San Diego Chargers FS Jahleel Addae (hamstring) and CB Chris Davis (ankle) both did not participate in practice Friday Sept. 12, and have been ruled out for Week 2. CB Brandon Flowers (groin) did not participate and is questionable. LB Melvin Ingram (hamstring) was limited in practice and is questionable. OT D.J. Fluker (knee, ankle) and DT Sean Lissemore (ankle) both fully participated in practice and are probable. DE Corey Liuget (ankle) was limited in practice and is probable.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers doesn't plan on avoiding Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman in Week 2. In Week 1, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers didn't target Sherman's side of the field once. "(Sherman) is a great corner. But at the same time, I think you have to be smart. It's not one of the deals that you want to go after him by any means. But our approach is not going to be to completely eliminate (Sherman) and not throw over there any," Rivers said.
Fantasy Tip: Sherman figures to be matched up mostly against Malcom Floyd Sunday, but the Bolts often move their receivers around, so he could cover Keenan Allen on occasion, too. Neither SD receiver is intriguing at FantasyScore this weekend, but Allen ($6,100; 12.2% of cap) is probably your better bet for catches.

Fantasy Tip: Gates was able to play with the injury last week and has a chance to play Week 2 despite missing some practice time. Gates will be facing the Seattle Seahawks defense if he plays, which could hurt his value. Owners could consider using another tight end if they have a better matchup.
