San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he did not ask for a trade this offseason and did not expect to be traded during the draft. Rivers said he is open to a possible contract extension but is also comfortable with playing out his contract.
Fantasy Tip: Rivers looks to be the Chargers' starting quarterback entering training camp, but there likely will continue to be talks about a possible extension. Rivers has a solid 2014 season and could be a starting option against certain matchups.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon has the skills to play all three downs, but he likely won't be a bell-cow back for the Chargers from Day 1. He should still be considered the top fantasy option in San Diego's backfield, but he should be drafted as a mid-level RB2 with plenty of upside.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon had excellent production and can catch the ball out of the backfield, which will make him appealing to fantasy owners. Branden Oliver is the incumbent backfield leader, but Gordon should come in and seriously challenge for the lion's share of the touches. Expect him to be overvalued in fantasy drafts, and he'll be more worth a reach if in point-per-reception leagues.

The San Diego Chargers have acquired the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for the 17th overall pick, the 117th overall pick and a 2016 fifth-round draft choice.

Fantasy Tip: Rivers has not shown a lot of enthusiasm about an extension, because there is a chance the team could move to Los Angeles. Rivers likely will be starting for the Chargers or the Tennessee Titans next season and could be a starter in fantasy leagues against certain matchups.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers will not be traded, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Additionally, the Chargers will not extend Rivers' contract as of now, but they would like to get an extension done.
Fantasy Tip: So much for the prospect of Rivers wearing a different uniform in 2015, although who know what his demeanor and attitude will be if he didn't want to stay with the team. He's still a solid fantasy quarterback and should be considered in QB1 territory.

Fantasy Tip: Assuming Rivers does stay in San Diego, he's a QB1 candidate heading into 2015. Rivers is coming off consecutive 30-plus touchdown, 4,000-plus yard seasons, so he still has plenty left in the tank.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers hadn't been the topic of conversations between the Chargers and other NFL teams as of Monday, April 27. There have been plenty of trade rumors surrounding Rivers this offseason, but a trade is unlikely prior to the start of the NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
Fantasy Tip: Rivers should continue to be a strong fantasy QB1 in most matchups this season. Rivers has plenty of weapons in the passing game, and the addition of a running back via the draft would only help things further.

Updating previous reports, San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers is unlikely to be traded to the Tennessee Titans on draft day this Thursday, April 30. A deal couldn't be done without Rivers signing a contract extension and passing a physical with the Titans, and neither of those have been in motion this week. The Cleveland Browns and St. Louis Rams are other teams that may be willing to trade with the Titans for the No. 2 overall pick in order to take Oregon QB Marcus Mariota.
Fantasy Tip: Rivers is likely to stay in San Diego for at least one more season, and he has the weapons around him to continue his fine 2014 season as a strong QB1 option most weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Oliver doesn't have a big frame, and it remains to be seen if he can shoulder the load as a lead back for the entire season. He will likely have the first shot at be the No. 1 back, but San Diego could add depth at the position in the draft. For now, consider Oliver a RB2.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers may be losing faith in the organization, according to NFL Network analyst and former Chargers' RB LaDainian Tomlinson. "The parts around him keep on moving… Philip could be looking at the situation and thinking 'we're not close to winning a championship anytime soon'," Tomlinson said. Rivers, however, has shown up for the start of the offseason program.
Fantasy Tip: It's promising that Rivers is present for the start of the offseason, but all is not well in San Diego it seems. There has been speculation that Rivers could be traded in correlation with the NFL Draft, but that remains to be seen, of course. He should still be regarded as a fringe QB1.

Fantasy Tip: Rivers is expected to play out the final year of his contract since he does not known where the team will play in the future. There have been rumors that Rivers could be traded leading up to the draft, but it appears the team wants to keep Rivers. Rivers may not be an every week starter in fantasy leagues next season but there will be matchups where he could be a solid starting option.

Fantasy Tip: Trade rumors have been swirling, as the Chargers could deal Rivers for the No. 2 overall pick and tab Marcus Mariota as their franchise quarterback. So far nothing has been done, so Rivers continues to get ready for the season. Either way, he’ll be a decent low-end QB1 in standard fantasy wherever he is in 2015.
