San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon is on pace for 315 carries this season - a total that would put him in the top 10 in team history. However, running backs coach Ollie Wilson has expressed concern that kind of workload may be a bit too much for a player coming off microfracture knee surgery this winter.
Fantasy Tip: Gordon's workload is high by today's standards, but owners should not be too concerned about this news. Barring injury, backups Kenneth Farrow and Dexter McCluster aren't likely to take more than five carries per game away from Gordon, who leads the league with 10 total touchdowns. The second-year back remains a good bet for 300-plus carries and is an every-week start in fantasy.

Fantasy Tip: Henry will have to pass all of the concussion tests before he is cleared to play, so owners should keep an eye on the situation during the week. He has been a solid part in the passing game during his rookie season and likely would be a No. 1 tight end for owners if he plays.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin showed no ill-effects of the knee injury which had him listed as questionable. He has four or more grabs in six of his seven games, but faces a Denver defense in Week 8 which limited him to season lows of three grabs and 17 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Gates has been bothered by a hamstring injury, and he hasn't posted more than 38 yards receiving in any of his five outings. Avoid him in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues until he starts to produce more consistent results.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has emerged as the cream of the crop in the Chargers receiver corps, and he is worth using as a WR3 in most fantasy formats most weeks. However, he isn't worth using in Week 8 in Denver, as the Broncos limited him to three grabs for 28 yards in Week 6.

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed 22 times for 68 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 7 game against the Atlanta Falcons, and he added six receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown on seven targets.
Fantasy Tip: Gordon scored zero touchdowns last season, but is making up for lost time in his sophomore NFL campaign. He has eight rushing touchdowns and two receiving scores. He has emerged as a bona fide RB1 in all fantasy formats. He faces the only team which held him out of the end zone this season, the Denver Broncos, on the road in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Imagine if Rivers actually had an NFL-caliber cadre of receivers for a full season. He remains a decent low-end QB1 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. He faces a difficult matchup in Week 8 in Denver.

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon's 48-yard run in Week 6 was the longest of his career, and offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt said the offense is working on "a lot of things" to try to generate plays in the run game.
Fantasy Tip: Gordon has the San Diego backfield to himself, and his huge workload will keep in the RB1 conversation with or without big plays.
