San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon can take his game to another level, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. Lynn said he's going to work with Gordon in an effort to make him better as a runner. "When I look at the tape, I say, 'Oh my goodness, we can help him get better here and here.' And he's already good, but there's more yards [to be gained]," Lynn said. Lynn was a running back himself in the NFL and believes his experience and insight can help Gordon achieve his full potential.
Fantasy Tip: There's no doubt Gordon came into his own in his sophomore season last year. A former professional running back as head coach should help him even more. If a healthy Danny Woodhead is re-signed then expect Gordon's receiving numbers to dip some, but he's still an RB1 consideration as the Chargers' primary back.

Los Angeles Chargers OT King Dunlap may need to restructure his contract if he wants to remain with the Chargers. The team would save $4.875 million in salary cap space if they release Dunlap before March 18.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers has the most touchdowns of any quarterback in NFL history that has never appeared in a Super Bowl. He's thrown 314 touchdown passes, placing him in first on the list, with former NFL QB Warren Moon closest behind with 291. Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer is third, having recorded 285 passing touchdowns, while former NFL QB Vinny Testaverde is fourth with 275.
Fantasy Tip: The Chargers have had a few really good teams with Rivers under center, but just quite haven't been able to get over the hump during his long tenure with the franchise. It shouldn't be something that puts Rivers in a negative light, as the 35-year-old has had a sensational career since being drafted fourth overall in 2004. In fact, he's posted a QB rating of 88 or better in each of the last nine years. As usual, he'll enter 2017 with QB1 potential.

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last week to repair a Grade 2 posterior cruciate ligament sprain. Benjamin had been dealing with the sprain for several weeks. A timetable for his recovery was not disclosed.
Fantasy Tip: The Chargers' offense may have had more major injuries to its offense than any other team in the NFL in 2016. Benjamin shouldn't be as involved next season with Keenan Allen and others returning from injury, but he's still a viable deep threat. Consider him in the later rounds of standard drafts.

Fantasy Tip: Woodhead is coming off a torn ACL that he sustained way back in Week 2, but it's not the first time the 32-year-old is seeking to return from a major injury. After missing most of the 2014 season, Woodhead returned the next year and suited up in all 16 games, while being a valuable contributor, so it's very possible that he does the same in 2017. However, with Melvin Gordon establishing himself as a fine every-down back, he could be looking at less touches if he goes back to the Bolts.
