San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) has made a speedy recovery from knee surgery and has been cutting aggressively in team drills during minicamp. "If you had seen him last Thursday do the conditioning part of the program in the offseason, you would have never known he was injured last year," head coach Mike McCoy said.
Fantasy Tip: Gordon had dreaded mircrofracture surgery on his knee in the offseason, which immediately makes him a risky fantasy proposition, especially considering his disappointing rookie year. It's a good sign that he's looking good in offseason workouts, but reserve final judgment until we see him in training camp and the preseason. For now, Gordon should be considered an RB3 or flex guy.

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) worked hard this offseason and appears to be improving each day, according to head coach Mike McCoy. McCoy said he believes Gordon will have an outstanding season in 2016.
Fantasy Tip: Gordon likely will be part of a committee at running back in 2016 if he is recovered from his knee surgery. He likely will receive most of the carries during games and should see more near the goal line. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in most leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin's absence is probably nothing to be overly concerned about. He'll enter the 2016 season as the Chargers' No. 2 wide receiver and should be a WR4 option in standard fantasy drafts.

Fantasy Tip: If Allen can stay healthy then he should easily attain WR1 numbers, especially in PPR formats. He was on pace for 134 catches, 1,450 yards and eight touchdowns before suffering a lacerated kidney last season.

Fantasy Tip: Oliver figures to be the third man down on the Chargers' running back totem pole, but an injury could quickly catapult him into greater fantasy relevance. At this point, though, he's only a deep flier in fantasy drafts.

Fantasy Tip: Woodhead has avoided a serious injury, but the Chargers could take it easy with their unsung running back leading up to training camp. He's still a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 consideration in PPR leagues.

Fantasy Tip: We'll see how well Gordon's recovering knee holds up if/when he does participate in training camp. Danny Woodhead is still the preferable San Diego running back from a fantasy perspective, but Gordon is still in low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 territory in standard leagues.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't sound too serious, but Woodhead's status will definitely need to be monitored in the coming days. If he avoided anything major, he's still worth a high-end RB2 selection in PPR formats.

San Diego Chargers DE Joey Bosa is absent from minicamp Tuesday, June 14, amid a contract dispute. Per sources familiar with negotiations, a main hurdle relates to offset language. Bosa's representation is pushing for there to be none. That would mean the Chargers pay him all of his four-year guaranteed contract - it will include a fifth-year team option - even if they release him sometime during it. Theoretically, Bosa thereby can double-dip and be paid full salaries from the Chargers and any new team with whom he signs if he were released.

Updating previous reports, San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen signed a four-year contract extension worth as much as $49 million. The deal includes a $9.5 million signing bonus and $20 million in guaranteed money.

Fantasy Tip: Allen caught 67 passes in just eight games last year, and he should be viewed as a WR1 candidate in PPR formats and a strong WR2 in standard leagues.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Allen is healthy, he should be a solid WR2 with WR1 upside in PPR formats.
