Fantasy Tip: Rivers is tough as nails, and has been playing dinged up for a while. FantasyScore need not worry about the Bolts' signal caller being ready for the regular season finale. He'll be there.

Fantasy Tip: The Bolts are still breathing for a playoff spot, so it is now or never this weekend. Check back Friday for a more definitive picture on Mathews, as well as other key members of the team.

Fantasy Tip: Allen's status for the regular season finale will be more clear Friday when the official injury report is revealed. The Chargers need all hands on deck, so Allen will likely do all he can to play. Still, FantasyScore owners might be taking a big risk, so start him at your own peril even if he is deemed ready.

Fantasy Tip: That's great news for Rivers ($5,555) and the Chargers with a very important Week 17 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. All indications are that Rivers will play in that game. However, the Chiefs defense has been pretty solid against QBs all year long, making Rivers more of a midrange to low-end QB1 in the season finale.

Fantasy Tip: Allen will cost $5,555 in FantasyScore this week. You will have to keep an eye on his practice status before you commit to putting him in your lineup though.

Fantasy Tip: While there is a chance that Mathews could play, this is not a great start to the week for him. He will cost $5,555, but you should monitor his practice status this week before considering him for FantasyScore.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers (back), who is playing with a bulging disc in his back, isn't dealing with a career-threatening injury if he continues to play, according to head coach Mike McCoy. Rivers is expected to play in Week 17 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but he may sit out of practice Monday, Dec. 22, and Tuesday, Dec. 23, to rest.
Fantasy Tip: We fully expect Rivers ($5,555) to be on the field in this very important season finale against the Chiefs. Despite a monster second half in Week 16, Rivers was looking quite bad for the third straight week. Against KC in Week 17, Rivers could struggle again, making him a weaker QB1 for FantasyScore lineups.

San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen (shoulder, ankle) and RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) could return to the lineup for Week 17 against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to head coach Mike McCoy. Mathews has missed the last two games with a severe ankle sprain, and he hasn't practiced at all since his injury.
Fantasy Tip: Allen and Mathews will both be worth $5,555 at FantasyScore if they play. Running with either of them for your daily lineups will be a pretty big gamble if they're active, though. Eddie Royal ($5,555) and Malcom Floyd ($5,555) could be midrange flex plays against the Chiefs.

San Diego Chargers WR Dontrelle Inman caught the first seven catches of his career for 79 yards in the team's Week 16 win over the San Francisco 49ers with WR Keenan Allen (shoulder, ankle) sidelined. The team is confident in the youngster, as evidenced by QB Philip Rivers' decision to throw to him on a fourth down with the game on the line.
Fantasy Tip: Inman had a pretty good first game of his season, and Rivers targeted him nine times in the comeback effort. However, he's a lottery ticket at FantasyScore in Week 17 against a Kansas City Chiefs defense that is much better against the pass.

Fantasy Tip: For those still in the fantasy playoffs, Rivers has a terrible matchup facing the Kansas City Chiefs next week. They are second to the Seattle Seahawks in passing yards allowed per game (214.3). Plus, Keenan Allen, Rivers' best receiving option, could still be sitting.

Fantasy Tip: Rivers had a good game in Week 16. He'll face off with the Chiefs in Kansas City in Week 17 and should be a mid-rate QB1 on FantasyScore.
