San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon's 48-yard run in Week 6 was the longest of his career, and offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt said the offense is working on "a lot of things" to try to generate plays in the run game.
Fantasy Tip: Gordon has the San Diego backfield to himself, and his huge workload will keep in the RB1 conversation with or without big plays.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin should receive his normal workload against the Atlanta Falcons this week and probably will have a solid role in the passing game. He can be a decent No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers has faced Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll or his protégé - Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley - seven times since 2013. In the four regular-season matchups against those teams (three against Bradley), Rivers has posted a passer rate of 110.0 each time and not thrown an interception.
Fantasy Tip: Rivers faces another Carroll disciple in Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn in Week 7 and figures to have similar success against a defense giving up an average of 297.7 passing yards and 2.3 touchdowns to quarterbacks this season. Chargers-Falcons definitely has shootout potential, so owners would be wise to invest in Rivers wherever possible.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin is expected to play this week, but owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure he is playing. He will have a solid role in the passing game if he plays in Week 7 and could be a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: While the expectation is that he will play, Benjamin's pace has slowed considerably since Week 2, when it appeared he was going to take over the Keenan Allen role in San Diego's offense. The Falcons present yet another get-well spot for Benjamin's fantasy stock, so owners should feel reasonably good about starting him as a WR3/flex in what should be a shootout.

San Diego Chargers LB Jeremiah Attaochu (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 20. SS Jahleel Addae (collarbone) and CB Brandon Flowers (concussion) were limited. OT Chris Hairston (groin), RB Dexter McCluster (hamstring) and LB Denzel Perryman (shoulder) fully participated.

Fantasy Tip: To be safe, Benjamin's status should be monitored heading into the weekend. He has a great matchup against the Oakland Raiders, though, and is a viable WR3 play at worst if he's good to go.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin should be able to play this week, but owners should check the inactive list just to make sure. He has recorded two 100-yard games this season and has been targeted at least seven times in four of the six games. Benjamin can be a No. 3 receiver in most leagues if he plays.

San Diego Chargers SS Jahleel Addae (collarbone), LB Jeremiah Attaochu (ankle) and CB Brandon Flowers (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 19. OT Chris Hairston (groin), RB Dexter McCluster (hamstring) and LB Denzel Perryman (shoulder) fully participated in practice.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Benjamin's knee injury will keep him out of the team's Week 7 game, but owners should know more about his status later in the week. He has been a bit inconsistent in terms of his weekly receiving yards but has been targeted at least seven times in three of the last four games. He should be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver if he is active this week.
