"I don't even understand," offensive coordinator Frank Reich said last month. "I don't understand how there's no physical drop-off in his game. None. I mean, I never saw him when he was 25, but what he does off the line of scrimmage, how crafty he is and the physical skill to execute how smoothly he runs -- maybe he slowed down, but I just don't see it. I don't see any dent in the armor." Gates' contract runs through next season, and he plans to honor it. Gates passed Lance Alworth for the most receiving yards in franchise history this year, and he also became just the fourth tight end in history to move past 10,000 career receiving yards. Fantasy Tip: After what Gates did this year, it's hard to imagine that he won't be drafted in fantasy leagues as a legitimate TE1, considering how volatile the position became in 2014. He may tailor his offseason workouts a bit after focusing on endurance training and mobility last offseason. Rivers won't commit to whether he'll need offseason surgery on his back. Rivers took a league-high 544 attempts out of the shotgun this year, according to ESPN Stats & Information. He was ranked 30th in the league in play-action passes, even though he completed a league-high 82$ of play-action passes for 495 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Fantasy Tip: Rivers played noticeably down in the second half of the season when facing much better defenses, and the lack of a consistent running game didn't help his cause. For 2015, Rivers should be considered a midrange QB1. Green missed two games this year due to various ailments, which limited his role in the offense. He played in just 274 snaps (27% of the team's offensive snaps) this year compared to 350 offensive snaps last season. "I've got a lot to work on, from route-running, to blocking and catching -- everything," Green said, when asked about his offseason plays. "It could have been a lot better. I was hurt. I've got to try and stay healthy. And I've got to try and do what I can for the team. I've still got a lot to improve on." Fantasy Tip: As long as Antonio Gates continues to be an offensive force like he was this year, Green's opportunities and fantasy value will be inconsistent. Heading into the 2015 season, consider Green nothing more than a midrange backup tight end with upside.
