Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin could be used as a punt returner next season. Benjamin was the punt returner during the early part of 2016 but struggled with his decision making and was replaced.
Fantasy Tip: Benjamin probably would not see a lot of time as a returner in 2017 because he should have a solid role in the passing game. He finished 2016 with 47 receptions, 677 yards and four touchdowns. Owners in most leagues should consider Benjamin a No. 4 receiver in drafts.

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon can take his game to another level, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. Lynn said he's going to work with Gordon in an effort to make him better as a runner. "When I look at the tape, I say, 'Oh my goodness, we can help him get better here and here.' And he's already good, but there's more yards [to be gained]," Lynn said. Lynn was a running back himself in the NFL and believes his experience and insight can help Gordon achieve his full potential.
Fantasy Tip: There's no doubt Gordon came into his own in his sophomore season last year. A former professional running back as head coach should help him even more. If a healthy Danny Woodhead is re-signed then expect Gordon's receiving numbers to dip some, but he's still an RB1 consideration as the Chargers' primary back.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers has the most touchdowns of any quarterback in NFL history that has never appeared in a Super Bowl. He's thrown 314 touchdown passes, placing him in first on the list, with former NFL QB Warren Moon closest behind with 291. Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer is third, having recorded 285 passing touchdowns, while former NFL QB Vinny Testaverde is fourth with 275.
Fantasy Tip: The Chargers have had a few really good teams with Rivers under center, but just quite haven't been able to get over the hump during his long tenure with the franchise. It shouldn't be something that puts Rivers in a negative light, as the 35-year-old has had a sensational career since being drafted fourth overall in 2004. In fact, he's posted a QB rating of 88 or better in each of the last nine years. As usual, he'll enter 2017 with QB1 potential.
