Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune, reports the San Diego Chargers agreed to terms with CB Antoine Cason on a five-year deal. Cason is expected to receive $6 million guaranteed and around $12 million over the life of the contract. He is expected to sign Thursday, July 24.

He tested the toe by running and cutting. "Obviously, it's a process. I'm a lot better than I felt a month ago. I can say that. I have no determinant on when and how fast I'll be coming back. But right now, I feel good. It's a little sore, but it's tolerable," Gates said.

He has been taking regular doses of snaps with the first-string offense during workouts at the team's offseason coaching sessions. While he is wearing a brace and is a bit more conscious of the injury, Rivers said there are times he forgets anything is wrong. Rivers is ahead of schedule with the recovery but the team is not going to do anything with him that could result in a setback.

The NFL released an additional 5,000 tickets to go on sale immediately because of the demand for tickets.
