Pittsburgh Steelers news, rumors and injuries

Fantasy Tip: Bell has still been drafted pretty high, but his value increases with the extra game he gains via this reduction. Despite the fact that he'll only be playing in 14 games, barring an injury, he could easily still finish as a RB1, if not the top running back in PPR games. DeAngelo Williams is expected to start the first two games of the season, so taking him late in drafts is a worthwhile goal.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams isn't sure how often he'll be used in training camp or in the first few games of the season yet. RB Le'Veon Bell's fate is tied to his three-game suspension that lies in limbo. Williams said he'll be ready for whatever he's asked to do.
Fantasy Tip: Williams is expected to be the Steelers' starting running back for at least the first game of the season. Whatever happens after that is yet to be decided. He could be a useful handcuff selection for those who draft Bell.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell doesn't know yet how many games he'll be missing this season due to an impending suspension. Bell is focused on training camp and being a better teammate, though. He said he's going to give it his all every time he's on the practice field. Bell also said he might be given a lighter load in training camp this time around.
Fantasy Tip: Bell could end up being suspended somewhere between one and three games. Whether his suspension is reduced or upheld, he should still be regarded as a RB1. If his suspension is reduced, he should still be an early first-round pick. If he still ends up serving a three-game suspension, he's more of a late first-round pick to early second-round pick.

Fantasy Tip: Bell's fantasy stock would firmly be in the top half of the first round of most drafts if a game was knocked off his three-game suspension.

Fantasy Tip: Wheaton will compete for the No. 2 wide receiver job during training camp but should see solid playing time even if he loses the job. Wheaton could be a late-round option in most leagues with the potential be more valuable as the season goes on.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder), OT Mike X. Adams (back), CB Senquez Golson (shoulder), DL Shawn Lemon (Achilles') and C Maurkice Pouncey (foot) were placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, July 25.

Fantasy Tip: Bell is a special talent, but that talent could be on the sideline for three games if Bell's three-game suspension isn't reduced. He should still be one of the first running backs off the board in fantasy drafts even if the suspension is upheld.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams said he "absolutely" received enough work as the backup during the first day of training camp Sunday, July 26, and he expects to be ready to start Week 1 if RB Le'Veon Bell is suspended.
Fantasy Tip: Bell is still waiting to appeal his suspension, but Williams will likely have to start for at least a couple of games. He will have short-term value at FantasyScore while Bell is sidelined, and in seasonal leagues, Bell owners should try to grab Williams as an insurance policy.

Fantasy Tip: Bell is still waiting to have his appeal of a three-game suspension, but even if he misses three games, he should still provide RB1 value as the workhorse back in Pittsburgh's powerful offense.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger posted some of the best numbers of his career last season with 4,952 passing yards and 32 touchdowns over 16 regular season games. Roethlisberger will have all of his offensive weapons back and could be a No. 1 quarterback in many fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown ended speculation that he may hold out when he showed up for the first day of training camp Saturday, July 25. "Hold outs never go well," said Brown. "Just look at history. It always ends badly. It wouldn't be the best decision. I make a lot of money. I pull up to camp in Rolls-Royces."
Fantasy Tip: Brown should be one of the first receivers taken in fantasy drafts, and he could be the No. 1 overall receiver in points-per-reception leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant played an average of just 29% of offensive snaps in 2014, but he is expected to serve as the primary No. 2 receiver on the outside in 2015 with WR Markus Wheaton moving to more of a slot role.
Fantasy Tip: Bryant found the end zone eight times in just 10 games, and a full season in a bigger role gives him an enormous ceiling. There is still some risk involved with taking a relatively unproven player, but he is well worth the gamble as a WR3.
