Steelers | Le'Veon Bell runs for 117 yards, TD

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 20:51:58 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell carried 24 times for 117 yards and a touchdown in Week 15 against the New England Patriots and he added five receptions for 48 yards on his six targets.

Fantasy Tip: Bell seemed to benefit once Antonio Brown left the game due to injury, as he was the guy carrying a bigger load down the stretch and in the pass game in the second half. Bell, Martavis Bryant and JuJu Smith-Schuster will have to pick up the slack in at least the final two regular season games with Brown on the shelf.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant posted 59 yards, TD

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 20:43:38 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant ended up with four receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 15 against the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Everyone in the receiver corps will move up a spot and have to pick up the slack with Antonio Brown (calf) going down for at least the final two regular season games. Treat Bryant as a WR4 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 16 and beyond.

Steelers | JuJu Smith-Schuster shines late

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 20:43:11 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster posted six receptions for 114 yards and six targets in Week 15 against the New England Patriots, highlighted by a 69-yard catch and run late in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Tip: Smith-Schuster will work as the team's No. 1 receiver in the final two regular season games with Antonio Brown (calf) sidelined by a partially torn calf muscle. He is worth using as a WR2 across the board in all fantasy leagues.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger tosses two TDs

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 20:42:34 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 22 of his 30 pass attempts for 281 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 15 game against the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Big Ben nearly had a third touchdown, which might have been the game-winning score, but instant replay overturned it in a controversial ruling to some. He also lost Antonio Brown fairly early to injury and will be without him for the remainder of the regular season, so that hurts his fantasy appeal into Week 16 and Week 17.

Steelers | Antonio Brown doesn't need surgery

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 17:00:49 -0800

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (calf) has a partially torn calf muscle after a variety of tests, a source said Sunday, Dec. 17. The hope is that he will be able to return to the team in the playoffs, but his regular season is over. No surgery will be required for the injury.

Fantasy Tip: It's good news for his real team, but terrible news for Brown's fantasy owners who were looking for big things in Week 16. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant will hold down the fort in the passing game, while Le'Veon Bell will continue to see a high rate of catches out of the backfield.

Steelers | X-rays negative for Antonio Brown

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 16:41:04 -0800

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (calf) was diagnosed with a calf bruise, a source said Sunday, Dec. 17. That indicates X-rays were negative.

Fantasy Tip: Brown was injured in the first half of the Week 15 game against the Patriots, and unable to put weight on his left leg before heading to the locker room. He was initially deemed questionable to return, but then taken to a hospital for further evaluation, likely for a CT scan. We'll update you when confirmed reports are available, but it sounds like he is not out of the woods yet in terms of a serious injury.

Steelers | Positive news for Antonio Brown?

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 14:23:24 -0800

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (calf) was taken for X-rays in the second quarter of the Week 15 game against the New England Patriots. The team is calling his ailment a calf injury, and he is questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like great news, as he would have been ruled out if the X-rays showed a more serious situation. It's hard to believe he'll return to the game with rainy, slippery conditions and a calf injury, but they have an important game with the Patriots for home-field advantage in the AFC on the line, so we'll see.

Steelers | Antonio Brown helped off the field

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 14:08:49 -0800

He was unable to put any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the field by the training staff. After a brief stop in the medical tent, he was headed for the locker room.

Fantasy Tip: Brown was targeted in the end zone and he was unable to haul in the ball. As he was rolling to the ground he had his legs tangled with a defender and suffered some sort of lower leg injury. More information when we know it.

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 12:12:25 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) is officially active for the team's Week 15 game.

Fantasy Tip: Smith-Schuster should serve as the No. 2 receiver for the Steelers against the New England Patriots. He should receive a solid amount of targets during the game and can be a No. 3 receiver or a flex option in most leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) is considered a game-time decision for Week 15's game against the New England Patriots but is expected to be active, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: Smith-Schuster put in several limited practice sessions during the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. Assuming he is active, he is worthy of consideration as a WR3 or flex option in all fantasy formats.
