Steelers | Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown set NFL record

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 09:27:13 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell and WR Antonio Brown are the first pair of teammates since the 1970 merger with at least 700 scrimmage yards apiece in their team's first six games of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Owners already know Bell and Brown are obvious must-starts, but this stat reflects just how heavily the Steelers rely on them to carry the offense. Bell already has a league-high164 touches despite getting eased into action in Week 1, while Brown has nine more targets (74) and 196 more receiving yards than any other receiver.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant did not ask for trade?

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 10:51:54 -0700

Contradicting a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant told reporters Monday, Oct. 16, he did not request a trade and has only talked with coaches about getting better.

Fantasy Tip: Reports surfaced over the weekend Bryant had been growing increasingly upset about his diminishing role and reduced snaps, as JuJu Smith-Schuster saw more snaps and ran more routes than he did for three straight weeks leading into Week 6. By all accounts, Bryant has been highly disappointing in fantasy this season and needs to be on fantasy benches until he gives an owner a reason for optimism.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant asks for trade

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 20:48:20 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant recently requested a trade, sources reported Sunday, Oct. 15. His teammates and coaches are reportedly well aware he is unhappy with his current role.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant was limited to just two grabs in the team's win in Kansas City, and he has been fighting with JuJu Smith-Schuster for targets and playing time behind Antonio Brown. A change of scenery might do him some good, as right now his fantasy appeal is rather minimal.

Steelers | Just two catches for Martavis Bryant

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 19:39:04 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant managed just two catches for 27 yards on three targets in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant is battling Juju Smith-Schuster for targets in the Steel City right now and it appears the rookie is winning out. Bryant has devolved into nothing more than a low-end WR4 or flex option in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. The Steelers host the Bengals in Week 7.

Steelers | Juju Smith-Schuster has three grabs

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 19:38:04 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster posted three receptions for 32 yards in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs on his three targets.

Fantasy Tip: The rookie has managed at least three receptions in each of his past three games, but his yardage totals are rather middling. He remains useful as a WR4 or flex option only in deeper leagues heading into Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Steelers | Antonio Brown posted 155 yards, score

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 19:34:38 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown racked up eight receptions for 155 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Brown had a 51-yard game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter which not only sealed the win, but more importantly put fantasy owners over the 100-yard mark. It was just his second visit to the end zone in six games, and both scores have come on the road. He'll look for his first home touchdown in Week 7 against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals.

Steelers | Le'Veon Bell runs for 179 yards, TD

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 19:33:29 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell rushed 32 times for 179 yards and a touchdown in the Week 6 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He also added three grabs for 12 yards on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: This is the Bell fantasy owners have been waiting for. After a slow start following his missing of training camp and the preseason, it took him a while to get on track. He had his biggest game against the best opponent the team has faced so far, and that's scary news for the rest of the league.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger doesn't do much

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 19:18:31 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 17 of his 25 pass attempts for 252 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 6 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: The good news is that he cleaned up the interceptions after having a career-high five picks last week. His only touchdown was an acrobatic catch and run by Antonio Brown in the fourth quarter, or this line would be even worse. He'll look for better results back home in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but right now he is looking more like a QB2 in most fantasy formats.

Steelers | Le'Veon Bell could receive franchise tag again

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 09:42:53 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is likely to receive the franchise tag from the team next season, even though both sides will continue to work on a possible contract extension. Bell is reportedly seeking a multi-year deal worth $15 million annually but the Steelers are unlikely to offer him that much money, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: Bell has gotten off to a sluggish start this year after missing the entire preseason due to a contract dispute, with just one 100-yard rushing performance to date. That being said, the 25-year-old should still be viewed as a RB1 in all fantasy formats regardless of the opponent.
