Steelers | Le'Veon Bell update

Sun, 22 Jan 2017 16:46:58 -0800

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (ankle) returned to the field to test his injured left ankle before gingerly returning to the sideline and removing his helmet during the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jan. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Stay tuned for more, but RB DeAngelo Williams has played well enough to keep Bell on the sideline in a non-emergency situation.

Fantasy Tip: DeAngelo Williams has been effective his stead, but it doesn't appear Bell's injury is severe.

Steelers | Ladarius Green not part of game plan

Sun, 22 Jan 2017 12:47:31 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion) is not part of the team's game plan for the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. Green could be active for the game but would not receive playing time.

Fantasy Tip: Green has not been cleared to play and likely will sit out another game. Jesse James is coming off a solid performance in the last game and should receive a decent amount of targets against the Patriots. James could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues.

Steelers | Ladarius Green not expected to play

Sun, 22 Jan 2017 07:29:13 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion, illness) is not expected to play in the AFC Championship game versus the New England Patriots Sunday, Jan. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Green was a limited participant in practice Friday, Jan. 20, but remains in the league's concussion protocol and hasn't suited up for a game since Week 15. He should be avoided in all fantasy playoff pools even if he is miraculously cleared to play Sunday.

LB Anthony Chickillo (ankle), FS Sean Davis (shoulder), C B.J. Finney (illness), WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (illness), DE Ricardo Mathews (ankle), QB Zach Mettenberger (illness) and LB Vince Williams (shoulder) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Steelers | Chris Boswell on track to play

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 14:29:52 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Chris Boswell (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 20, and is not on the injury report for the AFC Championship game.

Fantasy Tip: Boswell accounted for all 15 points of the team's game in the Divisional round game and has played well this season. He can be a solid option for all fantasy owners.

Steelers | Full practice for Le'Veon Bell

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 14:25:33 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 20, and is not on the injury report for the AFC Championship game.

Fantasy Tip: Bell missed a few days of practice this week because of personal reasons but will be a main factor on offense for the Steelers against the New England Patriots. Bell rushed for 337 yards in the first two playoff games and should be a No.1 running back in all leagues.

Steelers | Ladarius Green listed as questionable

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 14:17:41 -0800

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 20, and is listed as questionable for the AFC Championship game.

Fantasy Tip: Green still has not been cleared to play but his status could change leading up to the game. He probably will not be able to play, but owners can check the inactive list for his status. Owners in all leagues should look for other options and can avoid Green.

Steelers | Ladarius Green back at practice

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 10:15:20 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion) still remains in the league's concussion protocol, but he was able to practice Friday, Jan. 20, although he did not do so with the first team. He is expected to make the trip to New England but not expected to play in the AFC Championship Game against the Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Green hasn't played since Week 15 and is obviously struggling to clear the last hurdle or two of the protocol, so it would be a shock if he is able to contribute in any fashion on Sunday. Jesse James is in line to draw another start and is a middling option at best versus the Patriots.

LB Vince Williams (shoulder) was a limited participant, while RB Fitzgerald Toussaint (concussion), QB Zach Mettenberger (illness), WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (illness), DE Ricardo Mathews (ankle), C B.J. Steelers | Chris Boswell returns to practice

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 17:13:09 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Chris Boswell (illness) returned to practice and was a full participant Thursday, Jan. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Although Boswell was fantastic last week, making all six of his field goal attempts against the Chiefs in the Divisional Round, he's probably the least recommended kicker of the four remaining for DFS lineups this weekend. His NFC counterparts will be kicking indoors in a likely shootout, while his opponent on Sunday, Stephen Gostowski, is as reliable as they get.

Steelers | Ladarius Green downgraded

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 13:28:20 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion, illness) did not practice Thursday, Jan. 19, after being limited in practice Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Green is headed to another absence this week. Jesse James is a capable starter, but he doesn't have the offensive potential that Green does. Look for Pittsburgh to lean heavily on Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell once again.
