Eagles | Jordan Matthews limited

Wed, 26 Oct 2016 12:48:23 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews should have a good chance to play this week even though he is dealing with the injury. He is coming off a disappointing 10-yard performance in his last game but has been a solid option in the passing game this season. Owners in most leagues should consider him a No. 3 receiver.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews' job safe for now

Tue, 25 Oct 2016 09:10:29 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews has committed a late fumble in two of the last three games, but head coach Doug Pederson does not plan to demote him. "We don't want to see it, especially in those situations four-minute situations there at the end of the game. We've got to continue to either find out if he's tired, where he's at the end of the game … we'll find out more about that. But by no means am I down on Ryan at all. We just have to make sure that he understands that he can't obviously do that," Pederson said.

Fantasy Tip: Mathews leads the team in carries (67), rushing yards (262) and rushing touchdowns (three), but he's also the only running back on the roster with a fumble. He has been held without a rushing score in four straight weeks, while his 14 carries in Week 7 were his most since Week 1. Thus, owners need to consider him a low-upside flex option with shaky job security.

Eagles | Philly interested in Torrey Smith

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 19:48:26 -0700

The Philadelphia Eagles are interested in San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith, and the two sides are discussing a trade Monday, Oct. 24, multiple sources said. While no deal is imminent, the Eagles are interested in bolstering their wide receiver corps for a run at the NFC East title. The trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Fantasy Tip: A move to a contending team would be a nice boost for Smith's fantasy appeal. He has been a bust in San Francisco, but it has little to do with Smith and a lot to do with a murky quarterback situation which has just as many questions as ever heading into Week 8. Avoid Smith in fantasy if he somehow stays in San Francisco past Nov. 1.

Eagles | Zach Ertz with another quiet game

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 05:58:32 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz managed just one catch for 14 yards in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: He played 83 percent of the offensive plays, but it was his third straight quiet game. He'll be a bye-week replacement against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews leads weak rushing attack

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 14:15:35 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews gained 56 yards on the ground Sunday, Oct. 23, in a 21-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: To be fair, both teams' rushing attacks were down somewhat in this game. Mathews is a decent fantasy option, but you might want to wait until he plays a team that is weaker in defending the run.

Eagles | Carson Wentz struggles early

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 13:45:08 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz threw two interceptions early Sunday, Oct. 23, against the Minnesota Vikings, but Wentz recovered and threw 16-for-28 for 138 yards and one touchdown in a 21-10 win.

Fantasy Tip: Wentz has come back to earth in the past couple weeks, but his numbers are still fairly decent for a rookie QB. And his team gave Minnesota its first loss, so no one is calling for Wentz's head on a platter. Keep him on your roster as a QB2 or even off the bench in case.

Eagles | Bigger role for Dorial Green-Beckham?

Fri, 21 Oct 2016 20:26:16 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham now knows the offense and is no longer limited to certain sets of plays, according to offensive coordinator Frank Reich, and Reich said he is trying to figure out ways for Green-Beckham to be more involved in the offense.

Fantasy Tip: Green-Beckham has the physical tools to be a top receiver, and with his snap counts on the rise, you may want to stash him sooner rather than later. He could be an impact fantasy option if he puts it all together.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews practices in full

Fri, 21 Oct 2016 12:50:36 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was a full participant at practice Friday, Oct. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Despite dealing with knee tendinitis, Matthews was able to log his second straight full session at practice, which should ensure that he'll be good to go for the team's Week 7 tilt. Unfortunately, it won't be an easy matchup, as Matthews must oppose Minnesota's excellent defense. Even so, he can still be fired up as a fine WR3.
