Eagles | Eric Rowe to be No. 2 cornerback?

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 14:38:35 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles CB Eric Rowe is projected to be the No. 2 starting cornerback opposite CB Leodis McKelvin, in the opinion of's Phil Sheridan. Sheridan also said that it would not be a surprise if CB Nolan Carroll wins the No. 2 cornerback job.

Eagles | Nelson Agholor should start

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 14:30:56 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor is expected to be the No. 2 wider receiver behind WR Jordan Matthews, according to's Phil Sheridan.

Fantasy Tip: Rueben Randle will be Agholor's main competition for the No.2 receiving position, but Agholor has more upside. He has a bad reputation for dropping balls, though, and should not be considered more than a low-end WR4 to high-end WR5.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews not a great fit in offense

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 23:58:58 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews isn't a great fit in head coach Doug Pederson's offense as he wants to move his backs around to create mismatches for opposing defenses in the passing game.

Fantasy Tip: Mathews has never been a good receiver, and he has often been a two-down back. Mathews averaged 5.1 yards per carry last season, but he has had durability issues. With Darren Sproles likely to play on third downs and passing situations, Mathews is a high-end RB3 in fantasy. Sproles is a low-end RB3 in PPR leagues.

Eagles | Wendell Smallwood to work on protection

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 23:00:12 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood needs the most work in pass protection, which will be an area the team needs to trust him in to play him in the regular season. He has shown the ability to be a weapon as a receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Smallwood probably won't have a large role early on, but he could emerge if Ryan Mathews or Darren Sproles, who are aging, go down. He's in the RB5 flyer mix.

Eagles | Nelson Agholor won't be charged

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 09:34:16 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor will not be charged after the Philadelphia District Attorney's office conducted an investigation into an alleged sexual assault case against the receiver. The office said in a statement that it "lacked sufficient evidence" to charge Agholor.

Fantasy Tip: That's great news heading into training camp in a week-plus. Agholor had 23 catches for 283 yards and a touchdown in his rookie season, and he's currently listed as Philly's No. 3 receiver behind Jordan Matthews and Rueben Randle. With Sam Bradford at the helm, at least to start, Agholor probably won't produce enough to be anything more than a late-round flier in standard leagues.

Eagles | Durability concerns for Ryan Mathews

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 20:54:51 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews has played in all 16 games in just one of his six NFL seasons, averaging 12 games per year overall.

Fantasy Tip: Mathews could easily produce RB2 numbers when healthy, but you have to expect him to miss at least a few games. Wendell Smallwood could benefit if Mathews does miss time, making him a sneaky, late-round stash.

Eagles | Carson Wentz likely to be Week 1 inactive

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 14:46:04 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz is expected to be inactive for Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, according to head coach Doug Pederson. "It's hard right now to look down the road, but if we had to play this week, Carson would be down. He'd be the third quarterback. He'd be deactivated. That's probably the direction we're heading," Pederson told reporters.

Fantasy Tip: This has been the expectation all along, but Peterson appears to be confirming that Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel will start the season atop the depth chart. The Eagles do have a Week 4 bye, so it is possible they could turn to Wentz if they start 0-3, although that appears unlikely. Nevertheless, Bradford's hold on the starting job will likely be tenuous all season long, making him a low-end QB2 in fantasy at best.

Eagles | Coach happy with both Eagles kickers

Mon, 11 Jul 2016 15:45:46 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said he was happy with how PKs Cody Parkey and Caleb Sturgis looked during offseason workouts. Parkey and Sturgis will compete for the kicker job during training camp.

Fantasy Tip: There does not appear to be a favorite for the job, so it will depend on whether Parkey or Sturgis performs better during the preseason games. The winner of the competition will not be a great fantasy option since the Eagles offense is not one of the best in the NFL.

Eagles | T.J. Graham could be in or out

Sun, 10 Jul 2016 10:50:29 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR T.J. Graham is slated to be the Eagles' No. 6 wide receiver, if the Eagles keep six receivers, according to's Eliot Shorr-Parks.

Fantasy Tip: Graham will have minimal fantasy value as long as the guys ahead of him are healthy, even then, he probably won't see much playing time. He can be avoided in traditional fantasy leagues.

Eagles | Rueben Randle the No. 2 receiver?

Sun, 10 Jul 2016 10:42:19 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Rueben Randle is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver behind WR Jordan Matthews, with WR Nelson Agholor listed as the No. 3 receiver, according to's Eliot Shorr-Parks.

Fantasy Tip: Agholor has had a tumultuous offseason on and off the field, so Randle being dubbed the No. 2 wide receiver here isn't shocking. If Agholor can get his act together he could definitely end up as the No. 2 receiver, though. For now, Agholor should be taken as a WR4, while Randle is best drafted as a WR5.

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 15:30:55 -0700
