Jets | Robby Anderson poised for big year?

Thu, 19 Jul 2018 18:39:31 -0700

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson is set to "explode" and become a "more complete player" in 2018, according to wide receivers coach Karl Dorrell.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson could be facing punishment for some issues off the field, but after nearly reaching 1,000 yards last year and flashing big-play potential, he is worth a look as a WR3.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse likely not on roster bubble

Wed, 18 Jul 2018 17:06:19 -0700

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse is not on the roster bubble despite speculation that the club may move on from him, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. Costello also believes Kearse can be a "major player" in offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates' offense.

Fantasy Tip: The speculation of the Jets possibly dumping Kearse was fueled by their added depth at the wide receiver position, but it doesn't seem like that will happen. Kearse actually registered career highs across the board in receptions (65), targets (103) and yards (810) in his first year with the Jets, while also tying his high for touchdowns (five) in a season. He may have something to offer owners as a WR3.

Jets | Quincy Enunwa likely to be slot

Fri, 13 Jul 2018 14:21:49 -0700

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa likely will be used as a slot receiver this season with WRs Robby Anderson and Jermaine Kearse as the outside receivers, in the opinion of the New York Post's Brian Costello.

Fantasy Tip: Enunwa is coming off a neck injury but should be ready to participate in training camp. He played well before the injury but could see his targets drop a bit because of the other receivers on the roster. He has a chance to be a late-round pick in drafts that can be used against favorable matchups.

Jets | Isaiah Crowell unlikely an every-down back

Thu, 12 Jul 2018 11:22:44 -0700

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell probably will not be an every-down back for the Jets this season even though he believes he can handle the role, in the opinion of the New York Post's Brian Costello. RBs Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire likely will be on the field for passing downs.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell is on track to receive most of the carries this season and should be the team's main running back. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in most standard leagues but will not be as valuable in point-per-reception leagues.

Jets | Bilal Powell's production to decrease?

Wed, 11 Jul 2018 16:09:22 -0700

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell's production this season is expected to drop "dramatically," according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. That's mostly based on Powell likely getting fewer opportunities due to the team adding RB Isaiah Crowell and his anticipated durability. RB Elijah McGuire may also have an increased role as well.

Fantasy Tip: These are very valid points, as Powell was able to break out in the recent past thanks to injuries to Chris Ivory and Matt Forte. In the case of Crowell, though, the four-year veteran has played in all possible 64 games since entering the NFL, which will absolutely cut into any potential workload for Powell. Thus, owners shouldn't value him too highly this year.
