Fri, 23 Jun 2017 15:28:00 -0700

New York Jets WR Frankie Hammond Jr. appears to be the leading candidate for the punt returner job at this point, but RB Elijah McGuire could win the job if he performs well during training camp.

Jets | Matt Forte to be workhorse?

Fri, 23 Jun 2017 07:38:46 -0700

New York Jets RB Matt Forte will be the offensive workhorse this season, in the opinion of NJ Advance Media's Connor Hughes.

Fantasy Tip: Forte will be 32 late in the season, and the signs of age have been showing for a couple of years now. Bilal Powell is also waiting in the wings, which doesn't lend to conventional wisdom to use Forte as the workhorse. Forte is still a useful PPR back, but it's only as an RB3.

Jets | Elijah McGuire will have a role

Fri, 23 Jun 2017 07:38:06 -0700

New York Jets RB Elijah McGuire will have a role with the team this season, according to running backs coach Stump Mitchell. "I like everything (about him)," Mitchell said. "He's got great hands. As a third-down back or simply a back, he can catch the ball extremely well. He has good vision, and a good ability to make cuts. I like him. He's a student of the game and good in the classroom."

Jets | Josh McCown losing grip on starting gig?

Sun, 18 Jun 2017 17:13:09 -0700

New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg made some strides during minicamp, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post, and Costello believes Hackenberg could beat out QB Josh McCown to be the Week 1 starter.

Fantasy Tip: With a young, unproven group of receivers, don't expect much fantasy value from whoever ends up under center for the Jets this season.

Jets | Jamaal Adams 'the real deal'

Sun, 18 Jun 2017 08:17:35 -0700

New York Jets first-round S Jamal Adams had the most impressive spring of any Jets' rookie since Sheldon Richardson in 2013, according to the New York Post's Brian Costello, who added the No. 6 overall pick will be a Day 1 starter and should have an immediate impact on the defense.

Sat, 17 Jun 2017 16:21:39 -0700

Jets | Charone Peake has lead on third receiver spot

Sat, 17 Jun 2017 08:32:53 -0700

New York Jets WR Charone Peake is expected to be one of the team's top three receivers on Opening Day, along with Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

Fantasy Tip: Peake is cut from a similar cloth as former Clemson teammate Martavis Bryant, although he lacks the same size and natural athleticism. On a team just beginning a massive rebuild and a quarterback in Josh McCown known more for his injury history than anything else, owners can look elsewhere for their super sleeper at receiver.

Jets | Christian Hackenberg making a move?

Fri, 16 Jun 2017 12:39:20 -0700

New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg performed a "little better than expected" in minicamp, and QB Josh McCown does not have an "insurmountable lead" over him in the race to start Week 1. QB Bryce Petty is running third on the depth chart.

Fantasy Tip: As ESPN's Rich Cimini suggests, this position and the Jets' offense is general will likely be a disaster for fantasy purposes. All three quarterbacks can be ignored in drafts this summer.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart uncertain for training camp

Fri, 16 Jun 2017 09:04:05 -0700

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart (thumb, groin) told reporters he does not know if he will be ready for training camp after recently undergoing thumb and groin surgeries.

Fantasy Tip: Stewart has already missed all of OTAs and minicamp, so it would be next to impossible for him to make much of a rookie-year impact if he is unable to be ready for camp. Fellow rookie Chad Hansen should now be considered the favorite as the main backup to Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson.

Jets | No favorite among Jets quarterbacks

Thu, 15 Jun 2017 16:18:20 -0700

New York Jets QBs Josh McCown, Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty are in a genuine quarterback competition, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Bowles said so far there is no frontrunner for the starting position and that the quarterback battle will be sorted out during training camp.

Fantasy Tip: McCown would be the most beneficial from a fantasy standpoint. Even if Bowles doesn't call McCown the favorite, McCown's experience and leadership probably give him an edge. Even so, McCown has topped 2,500 yards only once in his 14-year career and has never thrown more than 13 touchdowns in a season. He can be avoided.
