Fantasy Tip: The running back position for the Jets is uncertain at this point since their top three backs are free agents. The team would like to re-sign Chris Ivory and have him as their starting running back, so Forte probably would be used more as a receiver if he signs with New York. Forte could be a middle-round option in fantasy leagues if he finds himself in this situation.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't make sense for the Jets to attempt to sign Forte considering his age (30 years old) and how much action he's seen in his career already. The Jets may be more comfortable with retaining Bilal Powell and drafting and/or signing a lower caliber running back.

The New York Jets are not and have not been interested in San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick has wanted out of San Francisco for months now, and the hiring of new head coach Chip Kelly hasn't changed his stance. A trade remains very likely.
Fantasy Tip: Nothing is guaranteed for Kaepernick after a disappointing season that came to an end because of injury. Things could still work out for him in San Fran in Kelly's scheme if he's willing to buy in, but that's a big if. At best for 2016 if he's a starter somewhere, Kaepernick is a risky backup fantasy quarterback with upside to surprise.

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall said he doesn't want the team to acquire San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick and wants the team to re-sign impending free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. "I don't want Kaepernick," Marshall said on ESPN's "First Take." "I think he's good. My guy's Fitz," Marshall explained. "It's nothing against Kaepernick, but what I'm saying is that I have my quarterbacks and I'm good."
Fantasy Tip: Fitzpatrick had a breakthrough season and would be in the low-end QB1 range if he re-ups with the Jets.

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick reportedly "wants out of San Francisco," and sources said Tuesday, Feb. 2, that the New York Jets are his preferred destination. The team is aware and intrigued in Kaepernick's desire to play for the cub, but are still in early stages of their offseason planning and evaluation, sources said.
Fantasy Tip: Kaepernick would have Brandon Marshall at his disposal if he were to make the move cross-country, but know that this is a story in its embryonic stages. Nothing is imminent right now.

Fantasy Tip: The Jets want to bring Fitzpatrick back, but Colin Kaepernick has recently expressed an interest in joining the Jets, which could put a wrinkle in the Fitzpatrick discussions. New York may view Fitzpatrick as a less risky option, though, so keep your finger on the pulse of the Jets' quarterback situation.

Fantasy Tip: Of course, as Cimini also said, there would be a lot of variables for the Jets to pursue and sign Forte, the first likely being that Chris Ivory isn't re-signed. As it stands, the Jets do have three impending free-agent running backs in Ivory, Bilal Powell and Stevan Ridley. Much needs to happen in order for Forte to land in New York, though.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory is expected not to re-sign, and it's unlikely that the Jets would let their three best running backs walk away. If Powell stays and the Jets don't sign anyone else, he could be the featured back in New York's offense next season.
