New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall has been a positive influence since joining the Jets this offseason. Marshall has shown his athletic ability that has given him success in previous seasons and he has been a good teammate in the locker room as well. Additionally, Marshall has connections with new head coach Todd Bowles, who was part of the Dolphins' coaching staff when Marshall played in Miami.
Fantasy Tip: The pieces seem to be fitting perfectly for Marshall as he joins his fourth team. The quarterback situation is still iffy, however, so it will be interesting to see how content he stays if Geno Smith and/or Ryan Fitzpatrick can't get the ball rolling. Marshall may be past his days of being a WR1, but he should be selected as a WR2.

Fantasy Tip: New York isn't going to have a pass-happy offense any time soon, and with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker around, Smith will be lucky to be more than a deep threat as a rookie. He will likely deliver the occasional big play, but he won't provide enough production to warrant drafting in fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley is also expected to be the starting slot receiver, so there will be decent fantasy value in leagues that award return points. He's still no more than a WR4, however, as Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker will see the majority of targets and Geno Smith will likely be the starting quarterback.

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is listed as the starting running back entering training camp, according to beat writer Rich Cimini's unofficial depth chart. RB Bilal Powell is the primary backup, and RB Zac Stacy is listed as the third running back. RB Stevan Ridley (knee) could figure in eventually, but he's expected to be limited at the start of camp.
Fantasy Tip: Ivory established himself in a muddy backfield that was expected to be led by Chris Johnson last year. Ivory has competition again this year, but he's a solid RB2 and takes a hit in PPR formats. Powell is a decent RB4 in PPR formats. It's hard to draft Stacy right now unless Powell and Ridley slip up.

New York Jets RB Stevan Ridley (knee) may begin the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list as he continues to recover from knee surgery, according to Dom Cosentino of NJ.com. If Ridley is not ready for training camp, the odds of him being placed on the PUP to start the season increase.
Fantasy Tip: The Jets have a crowded backfield as it is, and Ridley is already losing ground on the competition. Chris Ivory will likely start, barring injury, and Ridley will also have Zac Stacy and Bilal Powell to fend off. Draft him as a RB4 in deeper leagues and a RB5 in normal leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Decker finished last season with 74 catches for 962 yards and five scores, and while Marshall will certainly eat into his targets, there is also a chance Marshall's presence will open up Decker for more big plays. Consider him a low-end WR3 or a strong WR4 heading into 2015.

New York Jets WR DeVier Posey will compete for the No. 5 wide receiver job during training camp but could be released if he does not win the job. Posey could make the roster if the team decides to keep six receivers. Posey does not return kicks or punts, which hurts his value.

New York Jets TE Zach Sudfeld (knee) was waived/injured Monday, June 15, after suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during organized team activities (OTAs). The team signed TE Steve Maneri to take his roster spot.

New York Jets RB Stevan Ridley (knee) is not sure if he will be able to fully participate at the start of training camp. Ridley is he does not know if he will be 100% when camp starts and will not rush his rehab.
Fantasy Tip: Ridley's roster spot may be in jeopardy if he is not able to practice since the team has several other backs on the roster. Owners should monitor his recovery to see when he will be on the field. Ridley could be a late-round option in deeper leagues if he has a solid role in the offense.

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is staying focused during organized team activities in the wake of comments made by OG Willie Colon that Smith "can't crash the green-and-white Porsche in Florham Park." Smith responded, "I think we all have to pull together and we all have to do our job," Smith said before a sharp practice on the second day of minicamp. "That's the key thing. What (Colon) said was that we need to be on top our game. I need to be on top of my game . . . and I believe that that's true. What he said in that regard wasn't wrong," said Smith.
Fantasy Tip: Smith will have the first opportunity to win the Jets' starting job at quarterback, but he'll only be a late-round flier in two-quarterback leagues, even if does. Smith has thrown 34 interceptions and fumbled eight times, compared to just 25 passing touchdowns and seven rushing touchdowns in his first two seasons in the league.

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall picked the Jets as his favored landing spot during free agency because of how impressed he was with QB Geno Smith. "I was really shocked at the intelligence, how smart he was," Marshall said. "I had known him as a player from afar. I didn't know his football IQ was so high. He had crazy passion."
Fantasy Tip: Marshall's days of being a WR1 are long gone, but he should still see enough targets to flirt with WR2 value.

New York Jets RB Stevan Ridley (knee) said his plan is to be a contributor by Week 1. "I can't predict the future, but for me I've got to be ready for Week 1, and that's the goal," Ridley said. "When I do hit the field, I'm making an impact."
Fantasy Tip: Ridley should end up being the No. 2 back behind Chris Ivory at some point, but he is a RB4 at best unless Ivory were to be sidelined with an injury.
Fri, 12 Jun 2015 18:39:36 -0700
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is atop the depth chart for now, according to head coach Todd Bowles. "There's Ivory, there's (Bilal) Powell," Bowles said. "(Daryl) Richardson has been here, (Stevan) Ridley is not practicing, and (Zac) Stacy just got here. So, as Stacy gets to know his (assignments), it's Ivory, Powell, Richardson, Stacy, and of course Ridley isn't playing right now."
Fantasy Tip: The Jets will likely lean heavily on the run again in 2015, and Ivory is the back to own from the group for now. Consider him a solid RB3, but he doesn't possess much upside.
