Jets | Bilal Powell dominated late

Wed, 22 Feb 2017 20:42:54 -0800

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell amassed 82 carries for 411 yards and two touchdowns while adding 21 catches for 141 yards over the final four games of the regular season.

Fantasy Tip: It's worth remembering Powell pulled off this feat with Bryce Petty and Ryan Fitzpatrick under center and behind a banged-up offensive line as well as a defense that didn't look like it cared at times toward the end of the season. Powell's strong finish should put him in line to begin 2017 no worse than a split backfield partner, although the film suggests he should start over Matt Forte. As such, Powell should be considered a high-upside flex for now.

Jets | Quincy Enunwa dropped five passes

Wed, 22 Feb 2017 12:25:25 -0800

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa dropped five passes this past season, according to ESPN Stats and Information.

Fantasy Tip: Enunwa was a consistent option for the Jets this past season and led the team in receiving yards with 857 yards and touchdowns with four. He should continue to have a solid role in the passing game in 2017 and can be a No. 3 receiver for fantasy owners.

Jets | Brandon Marshall struggled with drops

Wed, 22 Feb 2017 12:21:46 -0800

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall dropped seven passes this past season, according to ESPN Stats and Information.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall's future with the Jets is uncertain at this point, so owners will need to monitor the situation. He finished this season with 59 receptions, 788 yards and three touchdowns. Marshall probably will be a starting receiver for a team in 2017 and could be a No. 3 fantasy receiver.

Jets | Eric Decker a candidate to rework deal

Wed, 22 Feb 2017 12:08:17 -0800

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) could be asked to restructure his contract this offseason because he is scheduled to count $8.75 million against the salary cap in 2017 and is coming off hip and shoulder injuries.

Fantasy Tip: Decker was limited to three games because of his injuries but was able to post 194 yards and two touchdowns in those games. He should be back with the Jets in 2017, but his value will depend on the team's quarterback. He probably should be considered a No. 3 receiver with the potential to be a No. 2 receiver.

Jets | NYJ has some interest in Jay Cutler

Wed, 22 Feb 2017 06:46:21 -0800

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler has drawn some interest from the New York Jets, who like his moxie and arm talent. Jets quarterback coach Jeremy Bates worked with Cutler in his younger days with the Denver Broncos, and he has always been a big believer in him.

Fantasy Tip: Cutler is aging and coming off of major shoulder surgery. He has very little upside as a QB2.

Jets | Robby Anderson to work with Chad Johnson

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 20:30:12 -0800

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson plans on working with retired NFL WR Chad Johnson this offseason. He said that it's "set in stone" and called it "mandatory." The two also worked together leading up to last year's NFL Draft.

Fantasy Tip: Well, although the Temple product went undrafted in 2016, his training with Johnson apparently did wonders for him, as Anderson reeled in 42 receptions for 587 yards, which placed him sixth amongst rookies this past season. He also found the end zone twice. The 23-year-old did most of his damage in the second half of the year, so it'll be interesting to see if he can pick up where he left off. A lot of that, however, depends on who the Jets employ under center.

Jets | Jets TEs were easily last in NFL in yards

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 21:53:42 -0800

The New York Jets produced by far the fewest receiving yards at the tight end position, combining for only 173 yards all season from TEs Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Brandon Bostick. The next-fewest team, the Miami Dolphins, had 551 yards.

Fantasy Tip: That's an embarrassingly low number for a team over the course of a full season, though in their defense, it had just as much to do with poor quarterback play. Seferian-Jenkins has built up hype before and rightfully so due to his natural talents, but until the Jets have a legitimate starting option under center, all of their TE options can be ignored in just about every league.

Jets | Mike Glennon may be option for Jets

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 15:16:32 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent QB Mike Glennon is expected to receive interest from the New York Jets this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The Jets will be looking for a starting quarterback this offseason and could consider Glennon depending on his asking price. Glennon has not received much playing time over the last few seasons but had some success when he started as a rookie. Glennon would not be more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he signs with the Jets.

Jets | Jets can void Darrelle Revis' contract

Fri, 17 Feb 2017 12:37:13 -0800

The New York Jets would be able to get out of their deal with CB Darrelle Revis, according to a term in his contract, which states that if he engages in personal conduct detrimental to the team, Revis would then be "in default," thereby making the contract "null and void."
