Jets | Brandon Marshall nursing sore hip

Sat, 27 Aug 2016 21:55:34 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (hip) was held out of the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 27, against the New York Giants due to a sore hip, head coach Todd Bowles said. The decision was made Friday, Aug. 26.

Fantasy Tip: The injury doesn't sound terribly serious and Marshall has two weeks to rest before the regular season opener. He'll be 100 percent by then, and he remains a WR1 in all fantasy formats.

Jets | Brandon Marshall inactive Saturday

Sat, 27 Aug 2016 15:12:00 -0700

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall will not play against the New York Giants on Saturday, Aug. 27. According to multiple sources, Marshall is not known to be dealing with an injury. Undrafted rookie free agent Robby Anderson will start in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall was spotted chatting it up with personnel director Brian Heimerdinger and talking with fans along the sideline, so it appears the Jets are just making sure their top receiver enters the regular season healthy since he has little to prove as an 11th-year pro. Marshall may not finish as the third-highest scoring receiver in fantasy again this year, but there is little doubt he'll be a WR1 if he plays 16 games again in 2016.

Jets | No Quincy Enunwa Saturday

Thu, 25 Aug 2016 13:46:25 -0700

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (concussion) will not play versus the New York Giants Saturday, Aug. 27, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Fantasy Tip: Enunwa's status will need to be monitored over the coming days and weeks; concussions can take a while to overcome. Even if he is New York's No. 3 wide receiver, he won't see much volume in the passing game and should not be drafted as more than a late-round flier.

Jets | Christian Hackenberg has flaws in mechanics

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 20:10:02 -0700

New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg needs to tinker with his throwing mechanics, according to the team. The club would not get into specifics, but people who have studied the rookie believe he tends to over stride, causing his passes to sail. Hackenberg is currently fourth on the four-man depth chart.

Jets | Quincy Enunwa remains out

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 15:40:52 -0700

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known when Enunwa will be able to return to practice but could be the No. 3 wide receiver this season if healthy. Enunwa probably should be avoided in most fantasy leagues since most of the targets likely will go to Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.

Jets | Matt Forte may play Saturday

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 13:32:13 -0700

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (hamstring) hopefully will be able to play in the preseason game against the New York Giants Saturday, Aug. 27, as long as he does not suffer any setbacks, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Fantasy Tip: Forte probably will see limited playing time against the Giants because the Jets want him to be ready for Week 1. Forte should receive most of the work at running back this season and can be a No. 2 running back in a majority of fantasy leagues.

Jets | New York hosts Karlos Williams

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 15:57:16 -0700

Free-agent RB Karlos Williams (Bills) visited the New York Jets Tuesday, Aug. 23. A deal is not imminent, however.

Fantasy Tip: Williams would join an already crowded backfield with Matt Forte, Bilal Powell and Khiry Robinson. He would likely mainly compete with Robinson for playing time, but his fantasy value would be minimal. Continue to stay away from Williams for now.
