New York Jets QB Geno Smith didn't take a step back in his development in the Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears Monday, Sept. 22, according to head coach Rex Ryan. "Guys, this ain't the same quarterback as he was at the beginning of last year, I don't care what people say," Ryan said. "Did he make a mistake? Absolutely. Their quarterback made a mistake but the difference was, they caught the ball and we didn't. ... I feel good about this football team and I feel good about Geno Smith."
Fantasy Tip: Smith was 26-for-43 for 316 yards, a touchdown and two costly interceptions - one for a touchdown and one in the red zone. Smith has talent, but he's been wildly inconsistent. He'll be a dice roll again in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions for $5,300 (10.6% of cap) at FantasyScore.

Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) said he didn't re-injure his hamstring Monday, Sept. 22, but it just wouldn't loosen up. He said he pulled himself from the game instead of risking further injury. "(I ran) a few plays and decided it was best to step aside and pull myself out. I gradually tightened up," Decker said. "It was to the point where it wasn't loosening up, and instead of doing something stupid and really hurting something down the road I decided to pull myself and give myself a chance."
Fantasy Tip: This gives Decker a chance to play in Week 4. However, the Detroit Lions have one of the best defenses in the NFL thus far. Decker ($6,700, 13.4% of your cap) is a huge gamble in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Decker's value is already limited by New York's below average passing offense, and a hamstring injury isn't going to help matters. Regardless of his Week 4 salary at FantasyScore, Decker could struggle to put up worthwhile numbers against a Detroit defense that has been one of the best in the NFL through three weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to put Decker in your starting lineups if you were waiting on him. He could be limited in the game, though, making him less likely to produce big numbers against the Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to wait for the inactive list to come out before getting the final word on Decker. Owners that have been waiting on his status will have to start Decker if he is active but may need to lower their expectations in case he is limited by the injury.

Fantasy Tip: If Decker does sit, Chris Johnson is probably the only player worth starting on the Jets' offense. Decker may sit out in order to rest for Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Decker may not be very effective if he plays, and he'd likely have his snaps limited. Hopefully you have other options if you rolled the dice with him this week.
