Fantasy Tip: Forte should continue to be the starting running back but has been losing snaps to Bilal Powell. Forte has rushed for less than 30 yards in two of the last three games and should only be considered as a flex option at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Forte has really disappointed the last few weeks after a hot start to the season. Bilal Powell's usage has increased while Forte may be showing the impact of heavy workloads throughout his career. Even if he's healthy, the Baltimore Ravens have been stellar against the run this year. Forte can't be considered as more than a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3.

New York Jets OT Breno Giacomini (back) participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 19. Giacomini is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and the team will have 21 days to activate him or keep him on the list.

New York Jets WR Devin Smith (knee) participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 19. Smith is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and the team will have 21 days to activate him or keep him on the list.
Fantasy Tip: Smith is working his way back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament but may be able to play at some point this season. He may have a chance to be the team's No. 3 receiver when he returns and could be an option in deeper leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Fitzpatrick will serve as the No. 2 quarterback in Week 7 but could win the starting job back if Geno Smith struggles. He should not be owned in any leagues as long as he is a backup quarterback.
Wed, 19 Oct 2016 08:29:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: With the Jets' season likely in shambles, it's probably Geno Smith's job the rest of the way, barring injury. Fitzpatrick can be released in most formats.

Fantasy Tip: The move sends Ryan Fitzpatrick to the bench and rids him of much value to fantasy rosters. The Baltimore Ravens don't pose a huge matchup liability, but Smith has not shown much to suggest he's worth owning in fantasy outside of two-QB leagues.

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) had a torn labrum and a lesion in his left hip repaired Tuesday, Oct. 18. Once he's off crutches, he'll have the shoulder surgery, but it's unclear how long that will take. The shoulder surgery will require eight months of recovery, which puts his status for the beginning of the 2017 season up in the air.
Fantasy Tip: Decker will likely be a boom-or-bust WR3 in drafts next season. However, a lot will depend on who is under center for the Jets. There is a lot to dislike about his draft stock after two major surgeries to recover from.

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles indicated during a press conference Tuesday, Oct. 18, that he has "revisited" his post-game comments that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick "is our starter," but did not say he was making a change. Bowles also mentioned it was "definitely possible" that QBs Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg could see action before season's end.
Fantasy Tip: Fitzpatrick has five TDs and 11 INTs this year, so fantasy owners weren't rushing to get him in their lineup to begin with. Still, this is the first internal acknowledgment that Bowles is considering making a move to (presumably) Geno Smith. Stay tuned.

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) underwent hip surgery Tuesday, Oct. 18. Decker is expected to recover in six months. Once Decker sheds his crutches, he'll have another procedure on his injured shoulder. The estimated recovery time for the shoulder surgery is eight months.
Fantasy Tip: In other words, Decker is a basket case right now. The good news is that he should be healthy and ready in time for offseason activities next year. As for this season, Brandon Marshall will continue to see a plethora of targets, while Quincy Enunwa serves as the No. 2 receiver. Robby Anderson and Jalin Marshall will have expanded roles, but neither of them is reliable enough to warrant starting.
